GlanceSync ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the GlanceSync mobile application (the "App") and its Wear OS companion app.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
The core functionality of GlanceSync is to sync notifications, calls, and settings between your smartphone and your Wear OS smartwatch. To provide this service, the App requires certain permissions, but we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.
A. Data Processed Locally on Your Device
Notifications (Notification Access): We require access to your device's notifications to forward them to your smartwatch. The contents of your notifications (text, sender, app name) are processed locally and sent directly to your paired watch via Bluetooth.
Phone State / Call Logs: If you enable the Incoming Calls feature, we require access to read phone states to detect incoming calls and forward the caller's information to your watch.
Bluetooth & Location (Nearby Devices): We require Bluetooth and Location permissions solely to scan for and maintain a connection with your Wear OS smartwatch. Location permission is a technical requirement by the Android OS for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning on older devices. We do not track your physical location.
Crucial Note: All the above data is processed 100% offline and locally on your devices. We do not upload your messages, contacts, or location to our servers or any third-party databases.
2. Third-Party Services
While we do not collect your personal data, the App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, primarily for advertising and in-app purchases.
Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the free version of the App. AdMob may collect and use advertising data (such as your device's Advertising ID) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Google Play Billing: If you choose to upgrade to GlanceSync Pro, your purchase is processed securely by Google Play. We do not have access to your credit card information or billing details.
3. Security of Your Data
We value your trust in providing us your personal information (locally on your device). We use commercially acceptable means, such as Android's secure Bluetooth APIs and Wearable Data Layer, to protect the transmission of data between your phone and your watch. However, remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission over Bluetooth is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
4. Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information (which is technically not possible as we don't collect data), we immediately delete this from our servers.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
