Welcome to Engo App (the "App"). This application is an e-learning platform designed for students to access educational videos, take quizzes, and track their academic progress under the supervision of their teacher. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
In order to provide our educational services, we collect minimal data necessary for the app to function. We do not collect sensitive personal data such as precise location, contacts, or device media.
Data Collection (Device ID): This app collects the Android Device ID strictly for the purpose of fraud prevention, account security, and device-binding. This data is not used for advertising, tracking, or shared with any third parties.
Account Data: We collect a "Username" (created by the teacher or student), a password, and the student's educational grade. We use synthetic email addresses internally via Firebase Authentication for security purposes; we do not ask students for their real personal email addresses.
Educational Progress: We collect data regarding the student's performance, including exam scores, quiz answers, and video watch progress. This data is used solely to generate academic reports for the student and the authorized teacher.
Device Information: Standard diagnostic data (e.g., OS version, crash logs) may be collected automatically by our backend services to ensure app stability.
We are fully committed to protecting the privacy of children. The App is designed for educational use and may be used by children under the age of 13. Accordingly:
Accounts are intended to be created by or under the supervision of a teacher or parent/guardian.
We do not collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as real names, addresses, or phone numbers from children.
We do not use any data for targeted advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes. The App is completely ad-free.
Data is strictly used to support the internal operations of the educational service.
We provide a transparent and accessible way for users to delete their accounts and all associated data, in compliance with Google Play's Data Deletion policy.
In-App Deletion: Users can delete their account directly within the App at any time by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. Activating this feature permanently deletes the user's profile, exam history, video progress, and authentication credentials from our database.
Request Deletion via Contact: Parents or users can also request the deletion of their account and all associated data by contacting the platform administrator/teacher directly. Upon request, all user data will be permanently erased within 15 days.
The App uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Storage) as its backend infrastructure. Firebase handles data securely, utilizing industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Firebase's privacy policies govern the processing of this backend data. We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks or external analytics trackers.
The App requires the following standard Android permissions:
Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to fetch educational content (videos, exams) from our secure servers and synchronize student progress.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to student data is strictly limited to the student and their authorized teacher via a secure admin dashboard.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
