Privacy Policy — Video Downloader
This Privacy Policy describes how Video Downloader (“the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Android application.
We designed this app to do as little with your data as possible: you don’t need an account, we don’t store the videos you download on our servers, and your URL history stays on your device. The places we do share data are the advertising and push-notification services described below.
URLs you paste or browse. Processed on your device by the bundled video extractor (yt-dlp). We do not send URLs to our servers.
Downloaded videos. Saved to your device’s storage. Not uploaded.
In-app browser cookies and cache. Clearable from Settings → Clear browser cookies.
In-app preferences. Wi-Fi-only download toggle, storage location, theme, language — stored locally.
Advertising identifier. Android provides a resettable advertising ID that our ad partners (Section 3) use to deliver ads. You can reset or limit it from your device’s Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Approximate device information. Device model, OS version, app version, language, country (from IP), network type, randomly-generated identifier. Used by our ad and push partners to target ads and deliver notifications.
Crash diagnostics. AppLovin’s native crash reporter may collect a stack trace if the app crashes. Technical only; not used for advertising.
We do not collect: your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, calendar, or any photos beyond what you explicitly save through the WhatsApp Status Saver feature.
The app shows ads through AppLovin MAX, with the Meta Audience Network mediation adapter. They collect the data in Section 2.2 to deliver and measure ads.

The app uses OneSignal for push notifications (download progress, announcements). OneSignal receives a randomly-generated device token, your device language and country, and notification preferences.

You can disable notifications at any time from your device’s app settings.
When you open a website (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) in the built-in browser, that website receives the same information any browser sends — IP address, cookies (if any), and the page you requested. We do not modify or intercept that traffic; it is between you and the site.
We use the data above to:
Run the video extraction and download features.
Show advertisements that fund the app.
Send notifications (only those you have allowed).
Diagnose crashes and improve stability.
Comply with applicable law.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for any purpose other than running and improving the app and showing ads through the partners listed above.
Permission

We do not request location, contacts, microphone, or camera.
Locally on your device. Downloaded videos, preferences, browser cookies, and saved statuses live on your device. Uninstalling removes everything except files in a public Downloads folder.
By our partners. AppLovin, Meta, and OneSignal store the data they collect according to their own retention policies (linked above).
We do not run our own backend servers for user data.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, please address these requests to the partners listed in Section 3 (AppLovin, Meta, OneSignal). You can also reset your advertising ID from your device settings at any time.
California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, to delete that information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense. The “sharing” through our advertising SDKs can be limited by resetting your advertising ID or enabling “Limit ad tracking” in your Android settings.
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and shared data through our partners, contact us at the email in Section 1.
We rely on Android’s standard sandboxing to keep app data isolated, and the network connections made by the app and its SDKs use HTTPS where the remote service supports it. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the limited data the app handles.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be announced via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after the change means you accept the updated policy.
