Introduction
TuneBench: Practice Desk ("TuneBench," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our mobile application (the "App") uses, where it is stored, and the choices you have. TuneBench is built to work on your iPhone: your tuning, tempos and practice journal stay on your device, there are no user accounts, and we do not sell your data.
Information We Collect
Information that stays on your device (never sent to us)
Microphone audio: The tuner listens through your iPhone's microphone only while the Tune screen is open. Pitch is analyzed in real time on your iPhone. Audio is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
Practice journal: Sessions you log (instrument, minutes, focus notes, mood and tempo) are stored only in the App on your iPhone.
Tuner and metronome settings: Your reference pitch, temperament, tempos, time signatures and saved setlist tempos are stored on your device.
CSV export: A CSV of your journal is created only when you ask for it, and you choose where to share it.
Widget: The Home Screen widget reads the same on-device data (streak, minutes today, last tempo).
Information collected by services we use
Subscription Information: If you buy TuneBench Pro, Apple processes the payment. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history so the App can unlock Pro. It does not receive your name, email, audio or journal.
Usage Analytics (when enabled): The App may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to measure which features are used and to fix crashes. This data uses a random, anonymous app instance ID and never includes microphone audio or your journal entries.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information above to:
Show your tuning, metronome and practice history on your device
Unlock and restore your TuneBench Pro subscription
Detect, prevent, and fix crashes and technical issues
Understand which features are used so we can improve the App
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Data Storage and Security
Your practice journal and settings are stored locally on your iPhone and protected by iOS data protection
We do not operate a server that stores your audio or practice data
Deleting an entry removes it from the App; deleting the App removes all of its data from your device
Third-Party Services
Our App uses the following third-party services:
Apple App Store: in-app purchases and subscriptions (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/)
RevenueCat: subscription status and entitlements (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy)
Firebase (Google): analytics and crash reporting (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy)
These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.
Subscription and Payment Information
TuneBench Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly
All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store; we never see or store your payment details
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings
Use of the App is subject to Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
Allow or deny Microphone access at any time in iOS Settings (the metronome and journal work without it)
Delete any journal entry in the App, or delete all App data by deleting the App
Export your practice journal as a CSV file (TuneBench Pro)
Ask us about, or request deletion of, any analytics or purchase data associated with your anonymous ID
To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information provided below.

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and publish the new version here.
