Effective Date: April 16, 2026
Thank you for choosing to be part of our community by using Storage Analyzer (“App”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information our App collects, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.
Storage Analyzer requires broad access to your device’s storage (via the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission) to function. Its primary purpose is to analyze, categorize, and manage the files on your device (such as finding large files, duplicates, and category breakdowns).
Local Processing: All file scanning, image similarity analysis, and storage management happens locally on your device.
No Uploads: We do NOT upload, share, or store any of your personal files, documents, photos, or data on our servers or any third-party servers.
Background Analysis: To complete comprehensive tasks (such as searching for similar images or large duplicates across your entire storage), the App may use a Foreground Service to continue processing safely in the background if you minimize the app. This ensures the analysis is completed without being interrupted by the system.
To improve the quality of our service and understand how users interact with the App, we use Google Analytics for Firebase. This tool helps us collect data on:
App installations and crashes
Basic app usage and user engagement metrics
Device information (e.g., model, OS version)
This data is used in an aggregated and anonymous form to improve app performance and user experience.
Our App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. To provide personalized ads, Google AdMob may collect and process certain information, including:
Advertising ID (an anonymous identifier for your device)
Usage data and interactions with ads
IP address
General location data (non-precise)
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with their own privacy policies. For more information on how Google uses this data, please visit the Google Privacy & Terms page.
To Provide Functionality: Permissions and services (including background services) are strictly used to calculate file sizes, identify similar images, find duplicates, and allow you to manage your storage effectively.
To Improve the App: Analytics data helps us identify bugs, improve navigation, and optimize performance.
To Serve Ads: Advertising data is used by Google AdMob to provide relevant advertisements, keeping the app free to use.
The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Link to individual privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app:
Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information under regional privacy laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, or state-specific privacy laws in the United States (e.g., California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)).
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to consent to or decline the use of your personal data for personalized advertising. We use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather and manage your consent.
You can change your consent preferences or withdraw your consent at any time.
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or other applicable US states, you may be afforded specific rights regarding your personal information, including the right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising purposes. We use Google’s UMP to provide you with the necessary notices and options to exercise these rights.
You can review, modify, or revoke your privacy choices and ad consent preferences at any time directly within the Storage Analyzer app:
Open the App and navigate to Settings (gear icon).
Tap on Ad Consent Preferences.
Update your choices in the consent form that appears.
We value your trust in providing us access to your device. Since all file management occurs locally on your device, the security of those files relies on your device’s system security. We do not transmit your files over the internet, and thus they remain as secure as the device itself.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
If you have any questions or suggestions about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us at Phonetools_-[at]outlook.com.
