1. Types of Data We Access

1.1. Device Storage Access Framework (SAF)

In order to provide the core functionality of our application—which is exploring and saving media files safely—Status Saver requires specific access to your local file system, specifically the hidden .Statuses folder generated by third-party messenger applications.

Personal/Sensitive Data: We do not access, process, or view your contacts, device location, identifying information (such as Android ID or IMEI), camera, or microphone.
Media Files: The files the application reads are purely localized media (Images & Videos) that you have already downloaded to your device's internal storage via messaging apps.
No Background Collection: All operations are performed exclusively when the app is actively running on your screen in the foreground.

2. How We Use the Data Accessed

The local media data accessed by our application is explicitly utilized solely for the following operational purposes:

Displaying Media: We parse the temporary hidden files locally to generate a gallery view within our app's user interface, enabling you to see the statuses you have viewed.
Saving Media: Upon your explicit command (clicking the "Save" button), the app copies the selected local temporary file directly into your device's permanent public MediaStore directory (such as your "Pictures" or "Movies" folders).

At no point is this data monitored, analyzed, or processed for any secondary functions such as building user profiles or tracking behavior.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

We believe your data is yours. Therefore:

We do NOT sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties any type of data, media, or operational patterns.
We do NOT integrate embedded third-party advertising SDKs that track you across applications.
We do NOT use analytic tools (such as Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Google Analytics) that map your behavior or device telemetry.

4. Secure Data Handling Procedures

Security is a prime focus governing our development. The limited data accessed by Status Saver is handled via the Android operating system's strict architectural guidelines:

We rely entirely on standard, authorized Android URI Permissions granted explicitly by the user at runtime.
Our application leverages the official Android Storage Access Framework (SAF), which limits our scope exclusively to the specific folder you manually approve.
Data transit over a network does not occur because the app has absolutely no server-side communication scripts implemented for media transmission.

5. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

Because Status Saver does not maintain internal user accounts, databases, or cloud servers, data retention policies do not strictly apply to our infrastructure.

Retention: No files or metadata are retained. The app only mirrors what exists on your local storage at the current moment.
Right to Deletion: You retain complete control over your data. To instantly revoke all permissions and delete any operational cache maintained by our application, you may navigate to Settings > Apps > Status Saver > Storage > Clear Data on your Android device, or simply uninstall the application.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

Our app does not contain content intended to exploit or harm children. We do not knowingly collect, mandate, or maintain personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with any form of data (which is technically impossible within our infrastructure), please contact us, and we will take necessary actions.

7. Legal Compliance & Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Although our application acts completely offline without tracking, we acknowledge your rights under privacy legislation like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). By design, our architecture ensures you inherently possess the right to access, restrict processing, and erasure, as all operational data is confined to your physical device. We are unable to provide data exports as we do not hold your data.

We reserve the right to modify, alter, or update this Privacy Policy at our discretion to align with changes in Android API standards or Google Play Developer Program Policies.
