This Privacy Policy describes how the Smart Text Manager Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles user data. We are committed to ensuring your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
The Extension is designed to function as a productivity tool for text expansion. To provide its core functionality, it processes the following information:
User-Defined Snippets: The Extension stores the text shortcuts and their corresponding full-text replacements that you manually enter into the extension popup.
Local Processing: The Extension monitors keystrokes locally on your device to identify when a predefined shortcut is typed. This processing happens entirely within your browser.
Chrome Sync Storage: All snippets and shortcuts are stored using the chrome.storage.sync API. This means your data is synced across your own Chrome browsers where you are logged into your Google account.
No External Servers: We do not host, store, or transmit your snippets, shortcuts, or any typed text to any external servers or third parties.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties. Your data is used exclusively for the purpose of expanding shortcuts as defined by you within the Extension.
Storage: Required to save and sync your custom snippets.
Host Permissions (<all_urls>): Required to allow the Extension to detect shortcuts and perform text replacement on any website where you choose to use it.
You have full control over your data. You can add, edit, or delete snippets at any time via the Extension's popup menu. If you uninstall the Extension, all locally stored data associated with it will be removed.
We prioritize the security of your data. By leveraging Google’s chrome.storage.sync API, your data is protected by your Google account's security infrastructure.
