We built the SmartSave application ("App") as a free-to-use application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App.
By using SmartSave, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
When you use SmartSave, you may save and store the following types of content:
Text notes and memos
Web links and URLs
Images and media files
Voice recordings
Tags, folders, and organizational metadata
This content is created and provided entirely by you. We do not collect content from your device without your explicit action.
If you choose to enable cloud synchronization, we collect:
Email address (used for authentication via Supabase)
Authentication tokens (managed securely by Supabase Auth)
Account creation is entirely optional. The App functions fully offline without an account.
We do not automatically collect:
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Location data
Contact lists
Call logs
Browsing history outside the App
Your saved content (links, notes, images, files) is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database. This data is used solely to provide you with the App's core bookmarking and content organization features.
If you opt in to cloud sync, your saved content is transmitted to and stored on Supabase (our cloud infrastructure provider) to enable cross-device synchronization. Cloud sync is entirely optional and disabled by default. You may disable it at any time from the Settings screen.
SmartSave uses Google Gemini AI to analyze the text content of your saved items (such as link titles, descriptions, and note text) in order to:
Generate brief content summaries
Suggest relevant tags for organization
This analysis is performed via Google's Generative AI API. The content sent to Google is limited to the textual metadata of your saved items. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Generative AI Terms. On the free API tier, Google may use submitted data to improve their AI models.
If you enable App Lock, SmartSave uses your device's built-in biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) or PIN/pattern. We do not collect, store, or transmit any biometric data. Authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system.
If you set reminders on saved items, we use local device notifications to alert you. No notification data is sent to external servers.
All your content is stored locally on your device using the Isar database engine. This data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud synchronization.
If cloud sync is enabled, your data is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase employs industry-standard security measures including:
Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
Row-level security policies ensuring only you can access your data
Secure authentication via Supabase Auth
Uploaded media files (images, voice recordings) are stored in Supabase Storage buckets with access controls tied to your authenticated user account.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Your data may be shared with the following service providers solely for the purpose of operating the App:

Data Shared - Saved content, email address
Google Gemini AI
Purpose - Content analysis & tag suggestions
Data Shared - Text content of saved items
These providers process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
You have full control over your data:
Delete Content: You can delete any saved item at any time. Permanently deleted items are removed from both your device and our cloud servers.
Disable Cloud Sync: You can disable cloud synchronization at any time from Settings, keeping all data local to your device only.
Delete Account: You can request complete account deletion by contacting us at the email address below. We will permanently delete all your cloud-stored data within 30 days.
Export Data: All your locally stored data is accessible on your device at all times.
SmartSave is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
