INTRODUCTION
Smart Printer ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS printing and scanning application.
Core Principle: Your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.
INFORMATION WE ACCESS
To provide printing and scanning functionality, the app requests access to the following on your device:
• Photos: To select photos for printing and collage creation
• Camera: To scan documents using your device's camera
• Contacts: To print contact information (optional feature)
• Files: To select documents for printing
• Local Network: To discover AirPrint printers on your WiFi network
Important: All access requires your explicit permission. You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Smart Printer.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
All data processing happens entirely on your device:
• Printing: Selected photos and documents are converted to PDF format locally and sent directly to your chosen printer via AirPrint
• Scanning: Scanned documents are saved to your device's local database
• History: Print and scan history is stored locally using SwiftData
• iCloud Sync (Optional): If enabled, your print and scan history syncs to your personal iCloud account using CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
We do not:
• Upload your photos, documents, or contacts to any server
• Track your usage or behavior
• Use analytics or third-party tracking tools
• Display advertisements
• Share your data with third parties
DATA STORAGE
• Local Storage: All data is stored in your device's app sandbox using SwiftData (Apple's local database framework)
• iCloud Sync: If you enable iCloud Sync in Settings, your data syncs to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit Private Database. Only you can access this data through your Apple ID.
• Data Deletion: You can delete all stored data at any time using the "Clear History Data" button in Settings.
PRINTER COMMUNICATION
• Printer Discovery: The app uses Bonjour (Apple's local network protocol) to discover AirPrint printers on your WiFi network. No data is sent outside your local network.
• Printing: Print jobs are sent directly from your device to your printer using Apple's AirPrint protocol. We do not intercept or store print job data.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
This app does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
The only Apple services used are:
• AirPrint: Apple's standard printing protocol
• CloudKit (Optional): Apple's iCloud sync service, only if you enable it
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app can be safely used by users of all ages.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
• Access: View all your stored data in the History tab
• Delete: Clear all data using Settings → Clear History Data
• Control: Enable/disable iCloud Sync at any time in Settings
• Revoke Permissions: Remove app permissions in iOS Settings
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
