Privacy Policy – Simple OCR

Simple OCR is a Chrome extension that lets you capture or paste an image, extract text (OCR), and optionally translate it.
Data we process
- Images you choose to OCR (screenshot region or pasted image)
- Text returned by OCR and translation
- Optional OCR.Space API key and target language (stored locally in Chrome storage)
How data is used
- Images are sent to OCR.Space (api.ocr.space) only when you run OCR
- Extracted text may be sent to Google Translate and/or MyMemory for translation when you use translate
- We do not sell user data
- We do not use data for purposes unrelated to OCR and translation
- We do not use data for creditworthiness or lending
Data storage
- Settings (API key, language) and temporary session state are stored in your browser via chrome.storage
- We do not operate our own servers that permanently store your images or text
Third parties
- OCR.Space – image OCR
- Google Translate (gtx) and MyMemory – text translation
Their own privacy policies apply to data they receive.
