Reading Tracker ("the App") is a mobile application developed by AntoTech ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App. The App allows users to manage their personal reading library, track progress, set annual goals, take notes, and view reading statistics. The App also displays advertisements using third-party services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in our data practices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

The App is designed to operate primarily offline. We do not collect or store your personal reading data on our servers. However, certain features involve third-party services that have their own privacy practices.

Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide and Store Locally

• Library Data: Titles, authors, page counts, progress, and metadata are stored locally on your device's internal storage.

• Notes and Quotes: Any annotations or excerpts you add are stored exclusively on your device.

• PDF Files: If you upload a PDF to the App, the file is copied to a secure, private directory on your device. We do not transmit or scan the contents of your documents.

• Goals and Preferences: Annual reading goals, display themes, and language settings are saved locally.

2. Information Sent to Third-Party Services

• Search Queries: When you use the "Online Search" feature, your query is sent to the Google Books API and/or the Google Gemini API (Generative AI) to provide accurate book details and smart suggestions. These queries do not contain personal identifiers.

• Ad-Related Data: The App displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), IP addresses, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements.

3. Automatically Collected Technical Data

The App may process non-personal information such as device model, operating system version, and App version to ensure compatibility and stability.

How We Use Your Information

• To Provide App Functionality: Your reading data is used locally to calculate statistics and manage your collection.

• AI-Powered Features: Smart recommendations and fallback searches are processed via external APIs using only the book title or author names provided in your search terms.

• For Advertising: AdMob uses its own data collection to display ads. We do not have access to the data collected by Google for this purpose.

• No Data Sales: We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Sharing of Information

• Google Services: Data practices for AdMob, Google Books, and Gemini AI are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Data Security

All your reading history, notes, and local files are stored within the App's private storage on your device.

• User Responsibility: We recommend keeping your device secure, as loss of the device or unauthorized access may expose your information.

• No Cloud Sync: Since there is no cloud backup provided by us, deleting the App or clearing App data will permanently erase your library unless you have a separate device backup.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians should supervise children’s use of the App and its search features.

Your Rights and Choices

• Access and Deletion: You can modify or delete your data at any time within the App. To remove all data, you may uninstall the App or use the "Clear Data" option in your device settings.

• Ad Personalization: You can opt-out of personalized ads by adjusting your device’s advertising settings (e.g., "Reset Advertising ID" or "Delete Advertising ID" in Android settings).

• Permissions: You can manage App permissions (such as storage or internet access) via your device settings.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the App or on our official distribution links. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
