The Pro Lap application ("Pro Lap", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") respects the privacy of its users and places particular importance on protecting the information and data entered or created while using the App.
Because Pro Lap is designed to assist medical laboratories with managing their operations and preparing, organizing, storing, printing, and sharing laboratory reports and test results, the App may handle personal, health, or medical information entered by the user. Pro Lap is designed so that patient record and report management functions primarily rely on local storage and processing on the user's device, without maintaining a centralized database operated by the developer for storing patient records.
This Privacy Policy explains the types of data the App may handle, how such data is stored and used, how it may be shared, and the responsibilities of the user or organization using the App.
Pro Lap is an application designed to manage and organize medical laboratory operations. It provides tools for entering patient information, managing tests and results, creating medical and laboratory reports, saving, printing, and sharing reports, as well as administrative and statistical tools related to laboratory operations.
The App is intended as a management and organizational tool for laboratory work and is not intended to replace the professional judgment of a physician, laboratory specialist, healthcare professional, or other qualified medical professional.
The user or organization using the App is responsible for verifying the accuracy of all information and test results entered into or generated through the App before they are used for medical, diagnostic, or clinical purposes.
Pro Lap is designed so that patient management, records, and report functions are primarily stored and processed locally on the user's device.
The developer of Pro Lap does not operate a centralized server dedicated to receiving or storing a database of patient records or laboratory test results from the App.
The App does not automatically transmit patient records or laboratory test results to the Pro Lap developer.
The user or organization using the App remains responsible for managing locally stored data, protecting the device containing such data, creating appropriate backups, and preventing unauthorized persons from accessing the information.
Depending on how the App is used and which features are enabled or used, the user may enter or create information including, but not limited to:
Patient name.
Phone number.
Age.
Gender.
Patient number or identifier.
Visit or report-related information.
Examination or report date.
Names of laboratory tests.
Laboratory test results.
Information and reports related to different laboratory departments.
PDF files and reports generated within the App.
Information associated with printing or sharing reports.
Administrative or financial information entered into the relevant tools within the App.
User-selected settings and preferences.
Information required to organize, archive, and retrieve records and reports.
This information is processed for the purpose of providing the functions requested by the user within the App.
Information entered into Pro Lap may contain personal, health, or sensitive medical information.
Such information is handled within the App's functions for the purpose of creating, managing, storing, and retrieving the records and reports requested by the user.
The Pro Lap developer does not use patient data for advertising, marketing, or advertising profiling purposes and does not sell medical records, laboratory test results, or patient information.
The laboratory, healthcare organization, or professional user using the App is responsible for obtaining any necessary consent and complying with applicable local laws and regulations concerning medical data protection, privacy, and professional confidentiality.
The App may provide functions for managing different types of laboratory tests and reports, including departments or forms related to areas such as:
Clinical chemistry and biochemistry.
Hematology.
Microbiology.
Serology and immunology.
Hormones.
Stool examinations.
Semen analysis.
Laboratory cultures.
Stone analysis.
Specialized examinations.
Other tests or departments that may be added to or customized within the App.
Reports may contain patient information, laboratory test results, and other information entered by the user.
Pro Lap can generate PDF reports and files containing patient information and laboratory test results.
These files may be stored locally within the App's storage area or in locations selected or used by the user or the device for purposes including:
Viewing the report.
Saving the report.
Archiving results.
Reopening previous reports.
Printing.
Sharing at the user's request.
Users should treat medical reports as potentially sensitive files and should not share them with unauthorized persons.
The App uses local storage mechanisms, including databases, files, and local settings, to organize the information required for its functions.
Local records may include information such as patient name, phone number, report date, report type, report file path, printing or sharing status, test names, departments, and other information necessary for managing records.
This information is intended for local use within the App's functions and the patient database is not automatically transmitted to the Pro Lap developer.
The App includes functions related to barcodes or patient identification codes and may use the device camera to scan barcodes or codes in order to search for a patient record or access information associated with that record.
The App requests camera permission when this functionality is required.
Camera access is used for the scanning function requested by the user and is not used for surveillance or secretly taking personal photographs.
Camera frames may be processed during scanning by the software components required to recognize the barcode.
Using the camera for barcode scanning does not mean that camera images or frames are retained or transmitted to the Pro Lap developer, unless explicitly stated in a future feature or updated version of this Privacy Policy.
Users may deny or revoke camera permission through Android settings. Barcode scanning features may not function without the required permission.
Pro Lap allows users to share reports or PDF files through WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, or other sharing applications available on the device.
Such sharing is not an automatic process for sending information to the Pro Lap developer. It occurs when the user actively selects the sharing or sending function.
When a report is shared, the file may contain patient information, laboratory test results, and other information contained within the report.
Once the user chooses to share information with an external application or service, the processing of that information by the external service is subject to that service provider's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
The Pro Lap developer does not control how WhatsApp or another external application processes the information after the user chooses to send it.
The user is responsible for verifying the identity and authorization of the recipient and obtaining any required permissions or consents before sharing personal or medical information.
The App may allow users to print medical reports or prepare them for printing.
When Android's available printing services are used, the document may be processed through the printing service or application selected by the user.
Any external printing service is subject to the privacy policy of its respective provider.
The App may provide internal statistics and reports derived from information stored locally, such as information related to the number of reports, examinations, departments, or activity recorded within the App.
This information is used to provide administrative functions to the user within the App and does not imply the existence of a centralized analytics service operated by the Pro Lap developer unless otherwise stated in a future version of this Privacy Policy.
The App may include local tools intended to assist with managing certain financial or administrative information related to laboratory operations.
Information entered into these tools is used to provide the functions requested by the user within the App.
These tools should not be considered a banking system, payment service, or certified accounting system unless expressly stated otherwise.
The App may provide functions that allow users to create backups of certain application settings or data and restore or transfer such backups.
When the user exports a backup or stores it outside the App's storage area, the user becomes responsible for protecting the backup file, its storage location, and access to it.
Android itself may provide backup or data-transfer capabilities for certain application data between devices, depending on the device settings, Android version, and services used by the user.
Certain backup or data-transfer operations may be performed by system services, device manufacturers, or services associated with the user's account, depending on the device configuration and service being used.
Such operations do not mean that the Pro Lap developer operates a centralized server for storing the patient database.
Data included in operating-system backup or transfer services may be subject to the policies and terms of the operating system provider or the relevant backup service provider.
Users and laboratories should review the backup settings of their devices and ensure that those settings are consistent with their confidentiality and medical-data protection requirements.
Pro Lap may provide a free trial period of 7 days.
The App stores locally the technical information required to calculate the start and duration of the trial period and determine when the trial has expired.
This information may include local timestamps or values used to prevent the trial period from being incorrectly reset.
After the trial period expires, continued access to paid features may require a valid subscription.
The App may offer paid subscriptions, including plans such as:
6-month subscription.
1-year subscription.
Subscriptions and payments are processed through Google Play and its billing services.
The Pro Lap developer does not receive or store the user's credit card number, debit card number, or banking information entered into Google to complete a payment.
The App may process the technical information necessary to determine subscription or purchase status, verify the user's entitlement to paid features, and restore a subscription when necessary.
The App may locally retain subscription verification status for a limited period to allow the App to continue operating according to the applicable licensing mechanism.
Information processed by Google during purchases or subscription management is subject to Google's applicable policies and terms.
The Pro Lap developer does not sell patient data, laboratory test results, or medical records created within the App.
The developer does not use such information for:
Personalized advertising.
Direct marketing to patients.
Selling user databases.
Creating advertising profiles.
Trading or commercializing medical information.
The App may interact with external services when necessary for a function requested by the user, such as:
Google Play for subscription and purchase management.
Android and system services.
WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business when the user chooses to share reports.
Sharing and printing applications selected by the user.
System or backup services that may be provided by Android or the device manufacturer according to the device's configuration.
Each external service is subject to its own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
The ability to send a file to an external service does not mean that the Pro Lap developer collects or retains a copy of that file on its own servers.
The App requests only permissions required for certain available functions.
One of the permissions the App may use is camera permission for scanning barcodes or patient identification codes.
The App may also use other permissions or system services when they are required to provide a specific function within the App.
Users can control application permissions through Android settings.
Disabling a permission may prevent the function that depends on it from working while not necessarily affecting the remaining parts of the App.
Because a significant portion of the App's data is stored locally, the security of the device itself is an important part of protecting the information.
We recommend that users:
Use a secure screen lock on the device.
Prevent unauthorized persons from accessing the device or application.
Keep Android updated when security updates are available.
Protect backup files and exported reports.
Verify the identity of the recipient before sending reports.
Avoid installing untrusted applications that may be able to access files stored on the device.
Protect the device against loss or theft.
Review backup and data-transfer settings when handling sensitive medical information.
We implement reasonable technical measures within the App to help protect data. However, no electronic storage system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Local data and records remain on the user's device for as long as they are stored there or required for the related application functions, until the user deletes them, clears the application's data, or uninstalls the App, depending on the type of data and the way it is stored.
Files that the user exports or saves outside the App may remain in the location selected by the user until the user deletes them.
External services, such as Google Play, may retain certain records related to purchases or subscriptions according to their applicable retention policies. The Pro Lap developer does not control the retention periods imposed by such services.
Because patient records and reports are managed locally, users may manage or delete available data through the relevant functions provided by the App, where such functionality is available.
Users may also delete local application data through Android settings or by uninstalling the App.
Users should be aware that clearing application data or uninstalling the App may permanently delete locally stored records and reports if an appropriate backup does not exist.
If the user has created a backup or exported files or reports outside the App, uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete those external copies or files. Such copies must be deleted separately when appropriate.
Uninstalling the App also does not necessarily delete information that the user has previously shared with other applications or individuals, or transaction and subscription records retained by Google according to its policies.
If Pro Lap is used within a laboratory, healthcare facility, or other organization, the entity entering patient information into the App is responsible for using such information lawfully and professionally.
Depending on the laws applicable in the user's country, this includes:
Maintaining patient confidentiality.
Limiting access to the device and application to authorized persons.
Obtaining required consents when applicable.
Not sharing results with unauthorized persons.
Verifying the accuracy of information and results before approving a report.
Protecting paper and electronic copies of reports.
Applying applicable medical-record retention and deletion requirements.
Taking appropriate measures to protect backups and exported files.
The App assists with organizing, entering, displaying, storing, and outputting information and results entered or prepared by the user.
The App should not be relied upon by itself to make diagnostic or treatment decisions.
The qualified professional using the App is responsible for reviewing laboratory results, values, units, reference ranges, patient information, and the accuracy of the final report.
Any abnormal result or medical decision should be handled according to appropriate professional procedures and recognized medical standards.
Pro Lap is not designed as a service directed toward children for independent personal use.
However, due to the nature of medical laboratory work, a professional user may enter information about a minor patient when laboratory tests are performed for that patient.
In such cases, the laboratory or healthcare provider is responsible for having the appropriate legal basis or parental/guardian consent where required and for protecting the minor's information in accordance with applicable laws.
The Pro Lap developer does not collect children's data from the application's patient database for advertising or marketing purposes.
Before selling a device, giving it to another person, or sending it for maintenance or repair, users should ensure that medical data and other sensitive information stored on the device are deleted or appropriately protected.
The application's database, reports, PDF files, and backups may contain sensitive information that should not be transferred to another party without authorization.
Users should also consider any backups or files exported outside the App and handle them separately.
Because the App relies on local storage for important functions, loss of the device, damage to the device, deletion of application data, or storage failure may result in the loss of locally stored information.
The user is responsible for creating and protecting backups appropriate to the importance of the stored information.
When sensitive patient information is involved, the laboratory or organization using the App should establish an appropriate backup procedure consistent with its confidentiality and medical-data protection requirements.
New features may be added to Pro Lap in the future.
If a new feature materially changes how data is collected, processed, stored, or shared, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
This Privacy Policy may also be updated in response to changes in applicable laws, Google Play requirements, operating systems, or external services used by the App.
The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy will indicate when the policy was most recently updated.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Pro Lap application and the functions provided directly by the App.
It does not apply to the practices of third parties that the user chooses to interact with outside the App, such as messaging applications, printing services, backup services, or services provided by operating-system providers. Such services are governed by their respective Privacy Policies and Terms of Use.
By using Pro Lap, the user acknowledges that they have reviewed this Privacy Policy and understand the nature of data processing within the App.
The user also acknowledges that they are responsible for the information they enter into the App and for having the necessary authority or legal basis to process such information, particularly when it relates to patients or other individuals.
This Privacy Policy does not replace any consent, authorization, legal obligation, or professional requirement that may apply to a laboratory, healthcare provider, or organization using the App.
