This Privacy Policy explains how Rescue Transit (the App) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our Android application and related services.
This policy is intended to support Google Play privacy and Data safety disclosure requirements.
1. Who We Are
Rescue Transit provides role-based workflows for drivers, shelters, fosters, and adopters, including transport operations, messaging, profile/document management, notifications, and payment-related features.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
Depending on your role and actions, we may collect:
Personal info: name, email, phone number, address details (city, state, street), account type.
Account credentials: password (processed for authentication).
Role-specific profile/onboarding info:
Driver: vehicle details, license number, experience details.
Shelter: shelter name and admin details.
Foster: preference data (animal type, size, age, experience, preferred area/radius).
Adopter: housing type and profile details.
Uploaded content: profile photos, documents, and other files/images you choose to upload.
Communications: in-app chat messages, image attachments, AI chatbot prompts/responses and conversation history.
Support/security actions: password reset requests, account deletion requests, and settings updates.
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we may process:
Authentication/session data: user ID, role, access token, refresh token, token expiry.
Device/app data: notification token (FCM), app and permission states, basic technical logs.
Diagnostics: error logs and API interaction metadata for stability and security.
2.3 Location Data
With permission, the App processes precise location data (GPS), including background location in transport/tracking workflows where enabled by your device settings, for:
Nearby transport discovery and matching.
Navigation and route progression.
Trip status updates tied to operational transport events.
2.4 Payment Data
Payment features use Stripe. Card processing is handled by Stripe and related backend payment services. The App does not intentionally store full card numbers or security codes.
3. How We Use Data
We use data to:
Create and manage accounts.
Authenticate users and secure sessions.
Operate role-based workflows and app features.
Enable messaging and chatbot functionality.
Deliver push notifications.
Process profile/document uploads and account settings.
Support payment-related functionality.
Improve safety, reliability, and fraud prevention.
Comply with legal obligations.
4. Google Play Data Safety Summary
For Google Play Data safety declarations, the App may collect and process categories such as:
Personal info (for example name, email, phone, address).
Financial/payment-related metadata (through integrated payment services).
Messages and user-generated content (chat, uploaded files/images).
Location (precise, and background where applicable).
App activity and diagnostics.
Device identifiers/tokens (for example push notification tokens).
Data may be shared with service providers strictly to deliver app functionality (for example notifications, maps, payments, chat infrastructure).
We do not sell personal data.
5. Third-Party Services and Sharing
We may share data with:
Core Rescue Transit backend systems.
Service providers required to operate the App, including:
Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
Google Maps Platform services for maps/routing.
Stripe for payment setup and processing.
Chat service infrastructure for real-time/AI chat flows.
Legal authorities when required by law or to protect safety, rights, and platform integrity.
6. Permissions on Android
The App may request Android permissions such as:
Location (fine/coarse and background, where required by transport flows).
Camera.
Photos/media/storage access.
Notifications.
Internet/network access.
Permissions are requested in context. You can revoke permissions in Android settings, but some features may stop working.
7. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for service delivery, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and operational records. When no longer required, data is deleted or anonymized when feasible.
8. Account Deletion and Data Deletion
You can request account deletion from in-app settings where available.
Driver and adopter users can delete their account from settings.
After deletion, access credentials are cleared from the app and backend deletion is requested.
If you cannot access the app, contact us at privacy@rescuetransit.ai with your registered account email and deletion request.
9. Security
We apply reasonable safeguards, including:
Encrypted/secure local storage for sensitive session data.
Authenticated API access controls.
HTTPS/TLS transport security.
No method of storage or transmission is fully guaranteed secure.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age threshold required by applicable law. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us for removal review.
11. International Processing
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where cloud/service providers operate. We apply safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top of this document.
