mytickets scanner is a staff-only application used to check event attendees in at the door. It is provided to event organizers and their staff, not to the general public or event attendees. A staff member signs in with an event code and an access code issued by the organizer, then uses the device camera to scan attendee QR tickets and record check-ins.
Staff account data. The event code and staff access code you enter at login, and the resulting session token, which is stored on your device so you don't have to log in again each time you open the app.
Camera and QR code data. The app uses your device's camera to scan QR codes printed on attendee tickets. Camera images are processed on-device only to read the QR code; images themselves are not stored or transmitted. The decoded ticket identifier is sent to our server to look up and check in the attendee.
Attendee data displayed to staff. When you search for or check in an attendee, the app retrieves and displays attendee information already held by the event (such as name, ticket type, and checkpoint) from our server. This data belongs to the event organizer, not to app users, and is shown only to authenticated staff for the event they're signed into.
Device and technical data. Standard technical data sent with any network request (such as IP address) is received by our servers as part of normal operation, in server logs.
To authenticate staff and keep them signed in between sessions
To look up events and attendees, and record check-ins/check-outs at the correct checkpoint
To show staff a history of recent check-ins for their event
To operate, maintain, and secure the service, including diagnosing errors from server logs
We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
All scan and check-in data is sent directly to our own backend at mytickets.live; we do not share it with third parties for their own use.
The login screen uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-detection widget, to verify that login attempts come from a real device rather than an automated script. Turnstile runs in a hidden web view and may process device/browser signals under Cloudflare's own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Your staff session token and the last event you signed into are stored on your device until you log out or uninstall the app, whichever comes first. Attendee and check-in records are retained on our servers by the event organizer for as long as needed to run and report on their event. To request deletion of data associated with your staff account, contact us using the details below.
The app requests camera access solely to scan attendee QR/barcode tickets. It does not access your photo library, contacts, location, or microphone. You can deny or revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings, though this will prevent QR scanning.
All network traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Staff access requires a valid event-specific access code issued by the organizer, and sessions can be revoked server-side at any time. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the data in our care.
This app is intended for use by adult event staff and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@mytickets.live.
