Privacy Policy for KnowMyMed

KnowMyMed provides medicine information for educational and informational purposes only. The app does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prescribing advice, or emergency medical advice. Always consult a qualified doctor or pharmacist before using, changing, or stopping any medicine.
Information We Collect
KnowMyMed does not require users to create an account and does not ask for names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, or medical records.
The app may collect limited technical and usage information, including:
- An anonymous installation ID generated by the app
- App session activity, such as whether the app is currently active and daily anonymous usage counts
- Medicine search queries sent to our backend to return medicine results
Favorites, selected country, and search history are stored locally on the user’s device.
Advertising
KnowMyMed includes Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob. Ads may be enabled or disabled by our backend configuration. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may collect or process data such as device identifiers, advertising ID, app interactions, diagnostics, IP address, and ad performance data for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and security.
You can manage or reset your advertising ID in your Android device settings.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide medicine search and details
- Improve app performance and reliability
- Show anonymous admin dashboard statistics
- Prevent abuse and maintain security
- Display ads when advertising is enabled
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Data may be processed by service providers used to operate the app, including hosting/database providers and Google AdMob when ads are enabled.
Medical Information
Medicine information shown in the app may come from official public medicine sources and backend imports. The app may not contain complete information for every medicine. If information is missing or unclear, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit and in storage. However, no internet service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Data Retention
Anonymous session and technical logs may be kept as needed for analytics, security, debugging, and app operation. Local favorites and history remain on the user’s device unless the user clears them or uninstalls the app.
Children’s Privacy
KnowMyMed is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
You can:
- Clear local search history and favorites from the app settings
- Reset or delete your Android advertising ID in device settings
- Uninstall the app to remove local app data from your device
