Privacy Policy for Genesis Catalog

Genesis Catalog is an unofficial informational catalog of games released for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive console. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the application.
1. Information Collected by the App
Genesis Catalog does not require account registration and does not ask users to provide personal information such as name, address, phone number, or email address.
The app stores certain user-created and app-related data locally on the user’s device, including:
• Favorite game marks
• Completed game marks
• Personal game ratings
• Personal notes added by the user
• App settings and display preferences
• Information related to locally created backup files
This data is stored on the device and is not sent by the developer to any external server.
2. Backup and Restore
Genesis Catalog allows users to create a backup of their app data and restore it later.
Backup files are created locally and can be shared or moved by the user using standard Android system tools. The developer does not automatically upload, access, or collect backup files.
3. Advertising
Genesis Catalog may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
AdMob may collect and process certain information automatically in order to provide, personalize, measure, and improve advertising. This may include device identifiers, approximate location derived from network information, advertising identifiers, app interaction data, diagnostic information, and other data processed by Google according to its own policies and user consent settings where applicable.
The developer does not directly access or control the personal data collected by Google AdMob.

4. In-App Purchases
Genesis Catalog offers an optional in-app purchase that allows users to remove advertisements from the app.
Payments are processed by Google Play through the Google Play Billing system. The developer does not receive or store the user’s payment card details or other full payment information. Transaction handling is managed by Google Play according to Google’s own policies.
The app may locally store information needed to determine whether the “Remove Ads” purchase is active.
5. Third-Party Services and External Content
Genesis Catalog may open external public websites, such as Wikipedia or SegaRetro, inside an in-app WebView or in a browser-like view for informational purposes.
When visiting such third-party websites, those websites may collect information according to their own privacy policies. Genesis Catalog does not control the content, data practices, or privacy policies of external websites.
6. Children’s Privacy
Genesis Catalog is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.
The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app or related communication, please contact the developer.
7. Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, rent, or manually share users’ personal information.
Data may be processed by third-party services integrated into the app, such as Google AdMob and Google Play Billing, only as necessary for advertising, purchase processing, fraud prevention, service functionality, and compliance with applicable policies.
8. Data Security
User-created app data is stored locally on the device. Users are responsible for protecting their device and any backup files they choose to export or share.
The developer takes reasonable steps to design the app in a way that avoids unnecessary collection of personal data.

Users can:
• Remove personal notes, ratings, and marked games inside the app
• Delete the app, which removes locally stored app data from the device unless the user has separately exported backup files
• Manage advertising and privacy preferences through device settings and Google-provided controls where available
• Choose whether to create, share, or restore backup files
