This Privacy Policy explains how the browser extension “X Country Filter (Blur)” handles data. The extension is published by Jonas Eriksen (“I”, “me”).
X Country Filter (Blur) is a Chrome extension that allows users to blur or hide posts on X (formerly Twitter) based on the country or region associated with an account.
I do not collect, store, sell, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) about you.
All processing happens locally in your browser.
The extension only uses the minimum technical data required to provide its core functionality: filtering content on X based on your own settings.
The extension processes the following data locally on your device:
Website content from X (x.com / twitter.com)
Public tweet content, usernames, and location text are temporarily read in your browser so the extension can decide whether to blur or hide a post according to your filter list.
This content is not sent to me or any third party.
Extension settings
Stored using Chrome’s storage API:
The list of countries/regions/keywords you choose to block
Whether posts should be blurred or fully removed
Whether debug logs in the console are enabled
These settings are stored only in your own browser and are not transmitted to any external server.
I do not collect or store:
Your name, email, address or other direct identifiers
Your X login data or passwords
Your browsing history outside x.com / twitter.com
Any private messages, DMs or non-public data
Payment or financial information
Health data or other sensitive personal information
The extension does not use analytics, tracking scripts, or third-party advertising.
I do not sell, rent, or trade any user data.
I do not share any user data with third parties.
All processing happens locally, and there is no backend server for this extension.
The extension requests the following permissions:
storage – to save your filter settings (which countries/regions to block and how to handle posts).
Host permissions for https://x.com/* and https://twitter.com/* – to read public content on X in order to blur or hide posts according to your settings.
These permissions are used only to provide the single purpose of the extension: filtering content by country/region on X.
This extension is not designed for or targeted at children. It simply modifies how public content on X is displayed in your own browser. I do not knowingly collect any information from children.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If I make changes, I will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
