What information the app collects?

During the Twitch login process you are asked to give permissions to access some of your information (which are detailed in the How the app uses my information section). While logging in to Twitch, the app collects your Twitch User Name, User ID and gets an Access Token which is provided by Twitch. During the login process Twitch gives access to your email address that is associated with your Twitch account, but the app doesn't collects, using or sharing it.

How the app uses my information?

Permissions for Twitch:

  • Log into chat and send messages

  • Manage your followed channels

  • View your email address

Permissions for the App:

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and INTERNET is necessary to checking and establish a network connection.

RECORD_AUDIO: It's necessary to have a VOICE SEARCH functionality, and only used in the Search. The app only gets the transcript of your spoken words.


Your email address that is associated with Twitch account it not used.

Your Twitch User Name, User ID and Access Token is used to:

  • get Followed Channels/Streams

  • get Followed Games

  • To Follow or Unfollow a Channel or a Game

  • To be able to access the chat, and send chat messages

What information is shared?

The following categories are shared with Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics:

Location:

  • Approximate location: User or device physical location to an area greater than or equal to three square kilometres, such as the city that a user is in, or location provided by Android’s ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permission.

App activity

  • App interactions: Information about how a user interacts with the app. For example, the number of times that they visit a page or sections they tap on.

App info and performance

  • Crash logs: Crash log data from your app. For example, the number of times that your app has crashed, stack traces or other information directly related to a crash.

  • Diagnostics: Information about the performance of your app. For example battery life, loading time, latency, framerate or any technical diagnostics.

Device or other IDs : Identifiers that relate to an individual device, browser or app. For example, an IMEI number, MAC address, Widevine device ID, Firebase installation ID or advertising identifier.
