Privacy Policy for PocketSave

1. Introduction
Welcome to PocketSave. This Privacy Policy explains how we protect your information. Our primary approach is "local-first": we do not force you to create an account, and your financial data stays on your device by default. If you choose to use our optional synchronization features, we collect minimal information strictly to provide that service securely.
2. Data Storage and Retention
Local Storage: All the financial information, goals, and notes you enter are saved exclusively on your device's local memory. We do not have access to this data.
Cloud Backup: If you choose to sign in with your Google account, your goals, custom text (user-generated content), and progress are securely backed up using Google Cloud/Firebase services to easily restore your data if you change your device. To authenticate you, we collect your email address. This information is strictly linked to your account and is only used to synchronize your progress.
Data Retention: If you use the app offline, your data is kept on your device until you uninstall the app. If you use the Cloud Backup, your data remains securely stored in the cloud until you delete your account or request its deletion.
3. Third-Party Services
While PocketSave does not track you, we use specific external services to keep the app free and functional:
Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore): Used strictly to provide the secure Cloud Backup service.
Google Analytics & Crashlytics for Firebase: We use these services to collect basic, anonymized usage data (such as which screens are visited) and crash reports if the app closes unexpectedly. This helps us understand app performance, fix bugs, and improve the user experience. We do not track your personal identity or link your financial goals to any external profile.
4. Data Security
Your data's security relies on your device's security. Since your information never leaves your phone (unless you choose to back it up to the cloud using your Google account), we recommend using strong screen locks to protect your device.
5. Your Rights (GDPR & International Laws)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy laws, you have rights regarding your data. Since we do not collect your personal data, you can exercise your right to access, rectify, or erase your information directly by managing the app on your device. To exercise your Right to Erasure, simply uninstall the app to delete all local data.
6. Children's Privacy
PocketSave is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
7. Data Deletion Policy
In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements, PocketSave provides users with a clear and straightforward method to request the permanent deletion of their cloud-stored data.
How to request deletion: You can permanently delete your cloud data directly within the PocketSave application. To do so, navigate to the Settings menu and tap the "Delete server data" option. This action will immediately and automatically erase all your savings goals, progress, and account identifiers (including your email) from our secure cloud database (Firebase). Local data on your device will remain unaffected until you clear it or uninstall the app.
Alternatively, if you cannot access the application, you may submit a data deletion request by emailing us at levantelabs@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Upon verification of your identity, we will process your request within 30 days.
Data retention: Once you initiate the deletion process via the app, the data is removed instantly from our active servers and cannot be recovered. Requests made via email will result in complete removal from our systems within the stated period.
