Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled by KhataBook : Offline Khata, Easy Hisab ("the App").

1. 100% Offline & Safe by Design

KhataBook is engineered from the ground up as a completely offline digital ledger application. All data entered into this application—including customer names, phone numbers, ledger records, notes, balances, and images—is stored exclusively on your device's local memory. We do not run external servers, cloud databases, or tracking systems that receive your data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

A. Customer and Transaction Data

   You may enter business records such as customer contacts, purchase amounts, payments received, notes, and dates. This data never leaves your device and is only accessible by you through the application.

B. Camera and Photo Gallery

   If you choose to set profile pictures for your customers or your shop, the App will request permission to access your gallery or camera. Selected photos remain stored safely in the App's private local sandbox on your phone.

C. Backup & Restore

   The App provides a local backup and restore feature. You can create a backup file and store it anywhere you choose (e.g. your local storage or your cloud drive). We do not have access to these files.

3. Device Permissions

Our application may request certain device permissions to provide its features. The Camera and Photos permission is used only for selecting or taking photos for customer profiles and is optional. The Internet permission is used to open WhatsApp reminders or phone dialer actions on your device. No personal ledger data is transmitted, stored, or shared over the internet. Internet access is a standard requirement for these actions.

4. Third-Party Services

The App contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertisement trackers, and no data profiling mechanisms. We do not sell or share user data with any third party.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete individual records, transactions, or customer profiles at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in your Android settings completely removes all application data from your device.
