Privacy Policy for Bookmark It
Effective Date: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Bookmark It Chrome Extension ("we", "our", or "us") handles user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a transparent and secure user experience.
1. Single Purpose Description
The sole purpose of the Bookmark It Chrome Extension is to provide a quick, lightweight way to bookmark links via the browser's right-click context menu and manage those bookmarks in a local popup dashboard.
2. Information Collection and Use
We believe in absolute privacy.
No Personal Data Collection: The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing history, or physical location.
No External Communication: The extension does not communicate with any external servers, third-party analytics services, or trackers. All code runs entirely locally on your machine.
Chrome Bookmarks API: To perform its function, the extension uses Chrome's native Bookmarks API. It only interacts with the bookmarks you explicitly choose to save, modify, or delete.
3. Data Storage
All bookmarks created through the extension are stored directly within your Google Chrome browser's native bookmark system. If you have Chrome Sync enabled, Google may sync these bookmarks across your signed-in devices in accordance with your Google Chrome Privacy Policy. We do not have access to, nor do we host, any of your bookmarks on our own databases.
4. Third-Party Sharing
Since we do not collect any user data, we do not share, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
6. Contact Information
If you have any questions or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy or the extension, please contact us through our Chrome Web Store developer email or support page.
