1. Information We Collect
A. Sensor & Device Data (On-Device Processing)
Audio Recordings (Microphone): When you use the acoustic engine diagnostic feature, the App accesses your device's microphone to capture short audio samples of your vehicle's engine sounds. Audio data is analyzed strictly for diagnostic frequency patterns.
Vibration & Motion Data (Accelerometer): The App accesses motion sensor data to measure engine vibration levels and G-force frequencies.
Camera & Images: When you capture visual evidence of engine components, the App accesses your device's camera or photo library.
B. Vehicle & Diagnostic Information
Vehicle Year, Make, Model, Engine Type, Mileage, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
Recorded OBD-II trouble codes and maintenance logs.
This information is stored locally on your device to manage your personal garage.
C. In-App Purchase & Subscription Information
All subscription transactions are processed securely through Apple StoreKit 2.
We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal payment method details, credit card numbers, or billing addresses.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
Perform multi-modal AI engine diagnostic analysis (converting sound, vibration, photo, and text inputs into diagnostic reports).
Provide personalized maintenance tracking (oil life monitoring, service alerts, and OBD-II lookup).
Process in-app subscriptions and unlock premium features via Apple StoreKit.
Improve App functionality, stability, and diagnostic accuracy.
3. Artificial Intelligence & Third-Party Processing
To generate Master Technician-level diagnostic reports, diagnostic inputs (vehicle details, description, vibration frequency, audio samples, and component photos) are transmitted securely to Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) via encrypted HTTPS connections.
Inputs sent to AI services are strictly used to generate your instant diagnostic report.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your vehicle diagnostic data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4. Permissions & User Control
You may manage or revoke permissions at any time through your iOS device settings:
Microphone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → AutoDiag AI
Camera: Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → AutoDiag AI
Notifications: Settings → Notifications → AutoDiag AI
Revoking permissions will disable the specific sensor feature (e.g., sound recording) without affecting the rest of the App.
5. Data Retention & Security
Local Storage: Your personal garage, vehicle history, and maintenance records remain on your local device.
Security: All API transmissions use industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS) encryption.
Data Deletion: You can delete any saved vehicle or diagnostic record at any time directly within the App by deleting the car from your Garage or clearing history.
6. Children's Privacy
AutoDiag AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a revised "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
