Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 10, 2026
Application: Crochella
Contact: elmelloukyd@gmail.com
This Privacy Policy explains how the independent developer of Crochella (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Crochella mobile application (the “App”).
Crochella is designed to work locally on your device. The App does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled server that receives your crochet projects or content.
1. Information You Create
Crochella allows you to create and save information such as:
project names and project types;
row, stitch, and repetition counts;
progress percentages and completion status;
project notes and row-specific instructions;
material lists and purchased quantities;
project deadlines and goals;
reminder schedules;
crochet session times and activity history;
favorite and archived projects;
PDF pattern names, categories, and reading positions;
cover images and progress photos.
This information is processed only to provide the features you choose to use.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Your projects, counters, notes, materials, preferences, activity records, session history, selected photos, and imported PDF patterns are stored locally inside the App’s storage container on your device.
We do not operate a cloud account or remote database that receives this content.
Depending on your device settings, locally stored App information may be included in an iPhone, iPad, iCloud, or computer backup managed by you or Apple. These backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by Crochella.
3. Photos
Crochella accesses only the photos you explicitly select through Apple’s system photo picker.
Selected photos may be used as:
project cover images;
progress photos;
images included in project exports;
progress images you choose to share.
The App does not scan or continuously access your entire photo library.
Photos remain stored locally until you delete them, delete the associated content where applicable, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App. Copies you export or share are controlled by you and the destination you select.
4. PDF Patterns and Files
Crochella accesses only the PDF files you explicitly select through Apple’s document picker.
Imported PDF patterns are copied into the App’s local storage so that you can:
read patterns inside the App;
return to the last viewed page;
organize patterns by category;
rename, search, sort, or favorite patterns;
associate a pattern with a crochet project.
The App does not scan your complete file system.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to import, store, and share any pattern or document you select.
5. Notifications, Sounds, and Badges
If you enable a project reminder, Crochella requests permission to:
display notifications;
play notification sounds;
update the App icon badge.
Reminder schedules and notification content are created locally on your device. Crochella does not use a remote push-notification service.
You can disable individual project reminders inside the App. You can also change notification, sound, and badge permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
If permission is denied, reminder-related features may not work, but the rest of the App remains available.
6. Sharing and Exports
Crochella can create project PDF documents and progress images locally on your device.
When you choose to share content, the App displays Apple’s system share sheet. No file is shared until you select a destination or recipient.
The application, service, or person you choose as the destination may process the shared information under its own privacy practices. Crochella does not control information after you share or export it.
7. Information We Do Not Collect
Crochella does not require or collect:
account credentials;
passwords;
precise or approximate location;
contacts;
microphone recordings;
speech-recognition data;
health information;
payment-card or bank-account information;
advertising identifiers;
browsing history;
device identifiers for advertising;
data for cross-app tracking.
The App does not use:
artificial intelligence services;
advertising SDKs;
analytics SDKs;
third-party tracking technologies;
remote content-processing servers;
cloud-based user profiles.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
8. Purchases and Subscriptions
The current version of Crochella does not offer subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Apple may independently process information related to downloading, reviewing, or installing the App under Apple’s own privacy policies.
We do not receive your complete Apple Account, payment-card, or banking information.
9. How Information Is Used
Information stored locally is used to:
create and organize crochet projects;
calculate project progress;
operate row, stitch, and repetition counters;
display row-specific notes;
manage project materials;
calculate deadlines and daily row goals;
operate crochet session timers;
generate local statistics;
organize and display PDF patterns;
schedule local reminders;
create files or images you explicitly choose to export or share;
remember your appearance and counter preferences.
We do not use your content for advertising, profiling, analytics, or artificial intelligence training.
10. Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we may receive:
your email address;
the contents of your message;
attachments you choose to include;
other information you voluntarily provide.
We use this information only to respond to your request, investigate a reported issue, protect the App, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Please do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers, medical records, or other sensitive information in a support email.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored information remains on your device until you:
delete a project, photo, note, material, or pattern using an available App control;
reset relevant project information;
clear the App’s data;
or uninstall the App.
Deleting a project removes its project information and associated session records and reminders. Content previously exported or shared must be deleted separately from its destination.
Some information may remain temporarily in device or iCloud backups controlled by you or Apple until those backups expire or are deleted.
To delete all locally stored Crochella information, uninstall the App from your device and remove any related device backups you no longer want to retain.
12. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You can:
edit or delete projects and project information;
delete selected progress photos;
delete imported PDF patterns;
disable project reminders;
change notification permissions in iOS Settings;
choose whether to share or export content;
stop all future local processing by uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information contained in support communications, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection.
To submit a privacy request, email elmelloukyd@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request.”
Because Crochella does not use developer-operated accounts, we may need information from your original support communication to identify the relevant record.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
13. Security
Crochella relies on the security protections provided by iOS and stores App content inside the local application container.
You are responsible for:
protecting access to your device;
maintaining secure device credentials;
controlling your device and iCloud backups;
choosing appropriate recipients for exported or shared content.
No electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Third-Party Services
Crochella does not include third-party analytics, advertising, artificial intelligence, subscription-management, or tracking services.
The App uses Apple system services where necessary, including:
the photo picker;
the document picker;
local notifications;
the system share sheet;
App Store review functionality.
Apple may process information independently when providing its services. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.
Any third-party application or service you select through the system share sheet operates under its own privacy policy.
15. International Data Transfers
Crochella does not transfer locally stored project content to developer-operated servers in another country.
If you contact us by email or share content with an external service, that provider may process information in other countries under its own terms and privacy policy.
16. Children’s Privacy
Crochella is a general craft utility and is not directed specifically to children under 13. The App is not offered in Apple’s Kids Category.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support communication without appropriate authorization, contact us at elmelloukyd@gmail.com so that we can take reasonable steps to delete it.
17. No Account Creation
Crochella does not provide developer-operated account creation.
There is no Crochella account to delete. Your projects and other App information are stored locally on your device.
Your Apple Account and App Store information are managed independently by Apple.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if:
the App’s features change;
our privacy practices change;
legal or regulatory requirements change;
new services or integrations are introduced.
When this happens, we will update the effective date. We will provide additional notice when required by applicable law.
The latest version of this Privacy Policy will remain available through the App and the public Privacy Policy URL listed on the App Store.
