Privacy Policy for Notify Launcher

This privacy policy applies to the Notify Launcher application for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Peter Hahn (collectively, the "Application"). Peter Hahn is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
1. Introduction & Application Scope
Notify Launcher is an Android Home Screen replacement (Launcher) designed to display notifications, calendar events, weather, and battery information in a unified widget and app drawer interface. The Application adheres to strict privacy-by-design principles and is designed to ensure maximum data protection for its users.
2. Information Collection and Use
Core Functionality & Local Processing
The Application is designed to process almost all data locally on your device. The Service Provider does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data (such as notification content, calendar events, or installed app lists) to any private servers.
However, the Application may collect certain technical information automatically:
Device's Internet Protocol (IP) address (only during external API calls, e.g., weather).
Operating system version.
Interaction data (time spent in the Application, feature usage) for internal analytics to improve the service.
Permissions & Sensitive Data
To provide its core launcher features, the Application requires the following sensitive permissions:
Notification Access: Used solely to display your notifications on the home screen widget. This data remains on the device and is processed ephemerally.
Calendar Access: Used to display upcoming events in the widget. This data is read locally and never transmitted.
Query All Packages: Used to display your installed applications in the App Drawer and allow you to launch them.
Device Management (Launcher): Used to function as your primary home screen.
3. Location Information (Weather Services)
The Application collects your device's location to provide real-time weather information directly on the widget.
Collection and Processing: We require access to your device's approximate and/or precise location.
Ephemeral Processing: Location data is processed ephemerally (session-based).
Secure Transmission: It is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our third-party weather API provider solely to fetch weather updates for your current area.
No Storage: We do not store your location data on any servers, nor do we track your location over time or share it with any other third parties.
Control: You can grant or revoke this permission at any time through your device's Android system settings.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Application or its third-party SDKs (such as Google Play Billing for Premium features) may use cookies, SDKs, or similar technologies to support functionality and analytics. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
5. Third-Party Access & Services
Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application.
Google Play Billing: Used to process "Premium" upgrades.
Weather API Providers: Used to fetch weather data (receives location data as described in Section 3).
6. International Data Transfers
Personal data (such as IP addresses during API calls) may be processed in countries outside your residence, including the USA. The Service Provider uses appropriate mechanisms (like Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure data protection.
7. Data Retention Policy
User-Provided Data: If you contact support, we retain your email and correspondence for the duration of the support request plus 12 months.
Automatically Collected Data: Technical logs are retained for up to 24 months.
Anonymized Data: Aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
GDPR (EEA Users): You have the right to portability and to object to processing.
CCPA/CPRA (California Residents): You have the right to know what information is collected and to opt-out of any "sale" or "sharing" of data (Note: We do not sell your data).

9. Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
10. Security & Data Breach
We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users in accordance with legal requirements.
11. Changes to this Policy
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or on the Play Store.
