Privacy Policy for Cognito
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Cognito ("the app") is developed by Ugam Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains
what we collect, why, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Name: you provide this during onboarding. Your name is shown publicly to other
players on the in-app Leaderboard.
- Email address: you provide this during onboarding. It is used to identify your
account and sync your progress. Your email is never shown to other users.
- Game progress: your level, Brain Score, and active days are stored so your
profile and leaderboard ranking stay up to date.
- Device identifier: we read a device ID (Android ID) only to prevent abuse of the
invite/referral feature. It is not used for advertising.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your profile.
- To sync your level, Brain Score, and progress across sessions.
- To display your name and score on the public Leaderboard.
- To operate the invite/referral feature and prevent fraud.
3. How your data is stored
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore). All data is
encrypted in transit. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Firebase is used only as our infrastructure provider.
4. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In the app: Settings > Account > Delete my account. This permanently removes your
name, email, progress, and leaderboard entry.
- By request: submit your email at [YOUR DELETION FORM URL] and we will delete your
data within 30 days.
5. Children's privacy
Cognito is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data
from children under 13.
6. Third-party services
We use Google Firebase for data storage and Google Play services. Their handling of
data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
