# Privacy Policy — Privacy Blur for Streaming & Screen Share
**Last updated: July 17, 2026**
This Privacy Policy explains how the "Privacy Blur for Streaming & Screen Share"
browser extension ("the Extension", "we", "our") handles information. The short
version: the Extension collects nothing, sends nothing, and keeps everything on
your own device.
## Summary
- We do **not** collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
- We do **not** use analytics, telemetry, tracking, cookies, or advertising.
- The Extension makes **no** network requests and has no backend server.
- Everything the Extension saves stays **locally in your browser**.
## What the Extension stores locally
To do its job, the Extension saves your configuration using your browser's local
extension storage (`chrome.storage.local`). This includes:
- Your blur rules (which elements, columns, rows, or areas you chose to blur),
organized by website domain.
- Your blur strength setting.
- Your per-site enable/disable choices and the global on/off state.
This information never leaves your device. It is stored only so your blur setup
reapplies automatically the next time you visit a page. You can remove it at any
time by deleting individual rules in the on-page panel, or by removing the
Extension from your browser.
You may also choose to export your settings to a JSON file on your own computer,
and import that file later. These files are created and read locally by you; the
Extension does not upload them anywhere.
## What the Extension does NOT collect
The Extension does not collect or process any of the following: your name, email,
address, or contact details; your browsing history; the content of the pages you
visit; keystrokes, form inputs, or passwords; location data; financial or payment
information; or any personally identifiable information.
## Permissions and why they are used
- **Storage** — to save your blur rules and settings locally so they persist
between sessions.
- **activeTab** and **scripting** — to open the on-page control panel and apply
your blur to the tab you are actively using.
- **Host access to http and https pages** — to apply your saved blur rules on the
web pages you configure. The Extension reads a page's structure only on your
device and only to place your blur; it does not send any page data anywhere.
The Extension applies a **visual** blur. It does not read, copy, extract, or
transmit the underlying content of the pages you blur.
## Third parties
The Extension does not share data with any third party, because it does not
collect data and makes no network connections. There are no third-party
analytics, advertising, or tracking services embedded in the Extension.
## Children's privacy
The Extension does not collect data from anyone, including children, and is not
directed at children under the age required by your local law.
## Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised and the new
version will be published at the same location. Material changes will be
reflected in the Extension's store listing.
