Hi, I am Dr. Pritam Khan, a researcher by passion and profession. I completed my PhD degree on 12th April, 2022 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Patna, India. I am thankful to my supervisor, Dr. Sudhir Kumar, at IIT Patna, for his precious guidance and motivation, that helped me earn the doctoral degree and get familiar with the research world.  

At present, I am working as an Assistant Professor with SRM University, Chennai in the Department of Computational Intelligence. Previously, I worked as an Associate Data Scientist for Ascendeum Private Limited in the area of business strategic consulting where I was responsible for identifying valuable data sources and automating collection processes, analyzing large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns, building predictive models (leveraging machine learning and deep learning), combining models through ensemble modeling, and proposing solutions and strategies to business challenges.

During my PhD, my research area focused on healthcare data analytics involving human activity recognition and emotion recognition leveraging Internet of Things (IoT), control systems, and the various physiological signals like ECG and EEG. The concepts of machine learning and deep learning techniques, especially on time-series data, are utilized in my work. 

My masters is from Jadavpur University (JU), Kolkata in 2014. I completed my B.Tech from MAKAUT (formerly WBUT), Kolkata. in 2012. My schooling is from Vivekananda Mission School, Joka (both ICSE and ISC). I owe to my teachers for all the man-making education that I received from them and the teachings of Swami Vivekananda that impact on every moment of my life.  

And of course, I would like to thank the Almighty for the supportive and friendly parents that I am blessed with.  They are the companions of my topsy-turvy  journey through the obstacles with unconditional love and support. 

Prior to joining PhD, I served as an Assistant Professor under MAKAUT, Kolkata for about 3 years. I was also engaged as a Project Engineer in a system-house of GE for around 6 months. Also, I got the chance to serve as a Guest Faculty in JU during my Masters.
