Types of Printing Machines in India
  1. Offset Printing Machines

Offset printer is the most commonly used technique of printing through which an inked image transfers from the plate to rubber blanket and then to the surface of offset printing machine.

Benefits:

· The modern offset press is quick with the printers reaching to about 18000 sheets every hour

· They also produce good quality prints and the images are quite sharp

· Printing plates experience a longer life as there is no contact between the surface and the plate

· When the printing needs to be done in commercial quantity, this technique of printing is cheap

2. Flexography

Flexography is the modern day version for letter press printing. This technique of printing employs a flexible photopolymer plates for printing which is wrapped around the rotating cylinders on the web press. These inked plates have raised pictures and rotate at a very high speed for transferring the images to substrate.

Benefits:

· It permits for a huge variety of shades

· It supports oil as well as water based ink. The water based inks are non-toxic

3. Screen printing

In this technique of printing, a mesh is mainly used for transferring on the substrate, except on some of the areas which are made impermeable to ink by the blocking stencil. Only one single color is used for printing. Thus, different screens may be used for producing multicolored images or designs.

Benefits:

· Good quality output can be expected as compared to the digital printers

· Considered durable for the long terms output
