The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to operate passenger trains during revenue hours and to deal with emergency scenarios during operations.


Fare and Ticketing Management

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to manage the selling and collection of fare media and farebox revenues and to deal with various hardware breakdown of the system's fare collection system.


Passenger Management

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to manage different types of passengers inside the railway stations during revenue hours and emergency situations.

Maintenance

Tracks and Guideways Maintenance

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and maintenance of tracks, its elements, and other civil structures.


Buildings and Facilities Maintenance

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and maintenance of different building service systems installed inside railway stations and other auxiliary buildings.


Signaling and Communications Maintenance

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and maintenance of signaling and communications facilities, tools, and equipment.


Power Supply and Distribution Maintenance

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and maintenance of traction power supply system, traction power distribution systems, and other electrical systems.


Rolling Stock Maintenance

The course aims to provide trainees fundamental knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and maintenance of rolling stock and its components.


Non-Commercial Train Driving

The course aims to provide trainees the fundamental knowledge and skills to operate trains during maintenance, inspection, and non-revenue hours.


WHO CAN APPLY?

The Philippine Railways Institute will only accept applications from:

  1. Returned OFWs

  2. Graduating college students

  3. Other aspiring applicants for the Rail Sector


WHEN IS THE SUBMISSION?

The Philippine Railways Institute will only accept applications until 20 January 2023 (Friday)

HOW TO SUBMIT?

  • Fill out the online Fundamental Training Application Form;

  • Submit the hard copy of the Notarized Undertaking Form to Philippine Railways Institute, Unit 63, The Columbia Tower, Ortigas Ave., Brgy. Wack-wack, Mandaluyong City, c/o Abel Trinidad,

  • Submit the scanned copy of the Notarized Undertaking Form following via email (td.pri@dotr.gov.ph) with email subject - "FT Course Application Cycle 6"

  • Deadline for submission of requirements on 20 January 2023 (FRIDAY).

  • INCOMPLETE submission is considered as no submission at all.
