Age Level: 2-4 year old
Goal of Lesson: Create a cardboard computer and have students practice numbers, letters, and other academic skills on it.
Learning Skills: Help engage students to the lesson by providing a new and interactive way of learning.
Materials: Cardboard, paper/foam, tape, plastic sheet/plastic bag/whiteboard
Creating the Computer
1. Cut the cardboard into a rectangle and fold it in half.
2. Glue black construction paper onto the top and bottom halves of the cardboard rectangle. Add tape to the crease.
3. On the top half of the computer (screen portion) glue on your plastic sheet/resealable bag. Leave an opening on the top to keep papers.
4. On the bottom half of the computer glue on foam/paper letters and numbers.
5. Have students create artwork, complete worksheets, and other activities and store in their computer screen.
For a more reusable take, have students practice writing letters, numbers, words, practice colors, math problems etc. directly onto the computer screen with white board marker (plastic screen so it is erasable). Allows for teachers to keep for years.
