Goal of Lesson: have students excavate various toys using tools archaeologists use.
Learning Skills: how to be careful when excavating, what archaeologists do and how to use their tools.
Materials: tray, sand, toy (dinosaur figuring match theme of archaeologists). Tools like paintbrushes, small shovels, spray bottles, etc.
Pre-Step
1. Set up a tray with sand and toys. Burry the toys in the sand so they can't be seen on the surface.
1. Give students tools to help them excavate the toys. Remind them they cant use their hands, only the tools. They must also be careful.
