Goal of Lesson: To help students identify the numbers and potentially add. Students can also learn how to share their "ice cream scoop"
Learning Skills: Identify math numbers and basic additions
Materials: construction paper, markers, pom poms
1. Have each student draw an ice cream cone on construction paper, leaving room at the top of the page.
2. Each student picks a number between 1-10
3. Each student comes up to the teacher and asks "Can i have ___ scoops of ice cream please?"
4. Grab the number the student asked for and give it to them
5. Each student counts the number of pom poms while gluing them to the sheet. Have the student write the number of scoops on the cone.
By the end, they will have an ice cream cone with pom poms as the "scoops."
