Age Level: 2-4 year old
Goal of Lesson: Have students build with ice.
Learning Skills: Building/balancing with a slippery medium not just building blocks; needing extra patience.
Materials: watercolors, tray, water & ice cube trays or a big bag of ice cubes.
1. Freeze water in ice cube molds. Have kids pop them out of molds; good for fine motor skills
*Optional add coloring into water before freezing to make colorful ice cubes.
**add water to different sizes and shapes of ice cube molds or containers for varied ice blocks
***instead of freezing your own ice cubes, you can also buy a big bag of ice
2. Give kids ice and watch them build/create with it. Put on tray for easy clean up. Take outside for added effect of sped up melting.
