Age Level: 3-4
Goal of Lesson: Have students create birdhouses out of cartons and popsicle sticks
Learning Skills: Learn how to construct a sturdy and usable house
Materials: cartons (milk/juice cartons, small boxes, plastic bottles, etc). glue or tape, decorative items (popsicle sticks, pompoms, markers, tissue paper)
1. Show students examples of different bird houses they can create. (examples at the bottom)
2. Have students choose a carton. This will be the main structure of the house. Students can use different types of cartons to make unique houses.
3. Draw out where they want the windows to be placed. Teachers cut out windows (student can do if old enough).
5. Tie a string to the top of the house
6. Be creative. Each house will look different.
