Bug Habitats

Age Level: 2-4 year old

Goal of Lesson: Have students build a suitable home for insects.

Learning Skills: how to build a homely home.

Materials: recyclables (toilet paper rolls, tissue boxes, etc). Nature (leaves, grass, sticks, etc)

1. Give students a recycled box to use as a base for their bug house.

2. Have them decorate the house using nature and/or recyclables. Ask them what kind of things a bug would need; a bed for warmth, a bowl for food, etc.

Optional 3. Have students go outside and find a bug to live in their habitat.
