PrepTrace ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use our mobile application PrepTrace (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the minimal information necessary to provide you with secure account access and cross-device sync.
Personal Information: When you create an account or log in, we collect your Name and Email Address. This is used strictly for authentication, account management, and identifying your cloud backup data.
App Progress & Study Data: We collect and store the study data you manually enter into the App—such as logged lectures, study streak counts, focus timer logs, subject lists, target exam dates, and earned Focus Points (XP). This data is linked to your account to enable seamless cloud backup and sync across your devices.
We do not collect your precise location, contact list, device identifier for advertising, or financial information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
Create, manage, and secure your PrepTrace user account.
Synchronize your study logs, streak progress, and preferences across your devices.
Respond to customer support requests or technical inquiries sent by you.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data or study history in any way.
3. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure
PrepTrace uses secure third-party backend services to host and sync your data securely:
Cloud Storage & Authentication (e.g., Firebase / Google Cloud): Your account details (Name, Email) and study logs are transmitted securely via SSL/TLS encryption and stored on cloud servers. These services process data strictly on our behalf to operate the App.
PrepTrace is 100% Ad-Free. We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or data brokers.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures (including HTTPS/SSL encryption) to protect your personal information and study logs from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Account and Data Deletion
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time:
In-App Request: You can request account deletion directly through the App settings menu or by contacting us.
Email Request: To permanently delete your account and all associated study data from our servers, send an email to [Your Support Email Here] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will delete your account within 30 days of receiving your request.
6. Children's Privacy
PrepTrace is designed for students preparing for competitive exams and academic courses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
