This policy applies to all information collected or submitted through the Pregnant Food – Eat or Avoid app (Swedish: GravidMat) for iPhone and iPad.
The app summarizes published food-safety guidance from national food authorities and health services. It is a reference, not medical advice, and it can contain mistakes: guidance changes over time, and summaries and translations can be wrong. If an entry and its linked source disagree, the source is right. Always follow the advice of your midwife, doctor or local health service for your own pregnancy. The creator accepts no liability for damage arising from use of the app, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The app has no accounts. Everything you enter — your due date, saved foods, recently viewed foods, your chosen guidance region, notification preference — is stored only on your device. It is never uploaded, and we cannot see it.
To learn which foods people look up, which searches find nothing, and whether the purchase is worth its price, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service operated by TelemetryDeck GmbH in Germany. These are aggregate counts, not records about individuals. What is sent:
which food was opened, its verdict, and where it was opened from (search, a category, the Week tab, your saved or recent foods);
a search that found nothing, if it looks like a food name (letters only, at most three words — anything else is discarded on the device and never sent);
when a search showed results but none was opened, how many results it showed — never the words searched;
for a food opened from search, whether it was the first result, the second or third, or further down;
that the Week tab was opened;
which setup screens were shown, and that setup was finished;
your chosen guidance region;
whether a lock or the subscription sheet was opened, which plan was chosen, and whether a free trial, a payment or a renewal went through — with its price, currency and App Store country, but never your Apple ID or anything that identifies the transaction;
and what TelemetryDeck's software adds to every app that uses it: app and iOS version, device model and screen size, language and time zone, accessibility and appearance settings, and how often the app is used.
TelemetryDeck groups these signals under an identifier that is hashed on the device before it leaves, so it cannot be traced back to you or your device, and it is not used to identify or track anyone. We never send anything about your pregnancy — not the due date, the week or the trimester — nor a name, email address, account or precise location, and we never send your saved foods, what you read on a page, or the words of a search that found something. Apple additionally provides us with aggregate App Store statistics (downloads by country, crashes) from users who have enabled "Share with app developers" on their device. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
The app shows no advertising.
The app is free to download, and a few foods on its front page answer for free. Every other food, the sources behind each answer and the full Week tab come with a subscription — yearly, with a free trial, or monthly — handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name or Apple ID; Apple's privacy policy governs the transaction, and you manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings. The app checks with the App Store whether a subscription is active in order to unlock it; that check involves no personal data reaching us.
If you start a free trial, the app schedules a local reminder on your phone for the day before it ends. If you have a yearly subscription, it also schedules one before the subscription renews: about a month after your due date if you have entered one, otherwise two weeks before the renewal. Both are created on your phone from information already on it; nothing about them is sent anywhere.
If you turn on the weekly reminder, it is scheduled on your device from your due date. No server is involved and nothing is sent anywhere.
Entries link to the websites of the food authorities and health services they summarize (for example livsmedelsverket.se, nhs.uk, fda.gov). Those sites have their own privacy policies and we have no responsibility for their content or practices.
We do not sell, rent or share information about you with anyone, because we hold none. Anonymous, aggregate statistics may be published or shared (for example, "the ten most looked-up foods"). If we ever sell to, buy, merge with or partner with another business, the anonymous statistics may be among the transferred assets; there is no personal information to transfer.
Communication with TelemetryDeck and with Apple uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because the app keeps your information on your device and holds no accounts, there is no account or server-side profile of you that could be breached.
Everything you have entered can be changed inside the app, and deleting the app deletes it. The usage statistics are anonymous and cannot be attributed to you, so there is nothing about you for us or TelemetryDeck to retrieve, correct or delete on request.
The app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and the app is not designed to attract them.
Anonymous statistics are processed by TelemetryDeck in the European Union. Purchases are processed by Apple, which may process data outside your country under its own policy.
