Hi! This is Darwin. I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Preclinical neuroImaging Lab in IIBM Sols-Morreale since 2024. My main goal is to evaluate, through in vivo mpMRI the role of key proteins involved in neuroinflammation pathways using GMO mice models.

I have always been interested in nature and health, but my aunt sparked my passion with the brain. Therefore, I studied Biochemistry in Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), and later completed a Master's Degree in Translational Medicine in neurological diseases at the same University. After that, I worked for 2 years as a Biology, Chemistry and English teacher in high schools. But I realised that I really wanted to do scientific research so I can explore the underlying mechanisms in neuroinflammation. I specially enjoy immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence techniques. During my time at IIBM, I joined Equality committe, Welcome Committe and I regularly participate in many groups of IIBM-Junior. In my free time, when I am not organizing seminars or social events, I love to dance, binge-watching TV series and lift weights.
