Last updated: February 2026Pray Stop ("we," "our," or "the app") is a prayer and focus app that helps you schedule prayer times and temporarily block selected apps until you complete a prayer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Almost all data stays on your device. We do not run our own servers that collect your prayer content or personal notes.
Prayer history
When you complete a prayer, we store the date and time and, if you choose to add it, an optional note (e.g. how you felt). This is stored locally in the app and in a shared container so the Pray Stop widget can show your progress. We do not send this to our servers or to third parties for our own use.
Blocked apps selection
When you choose which apps to block (Screen Time / Family Controls), the system gives us opaque tokens that represent your selection. We store these tokens on your device (and in a shared container so blocking can work when the app is closed). We do not receive or store the actual names or list of apps you block.
Schedule and completion data
Your prayer schedule (e.g. times like 6:00 and 20:00), how many prayers per day you set, and which time slots you've completed today are stored on your device so we can know when to block and when you've already prayed.
App preferences
Settings such as whether you've completed onboarding, dismissed the paywall, and similar in-app choices are stored locally.
Display name (optional)
If you enter a name in the app (e.g. for a personalized experience), it is stored only on your device.
Onboarding input
Any text you enter during onboarding (e.g. for personalization) may be stored temporarily on your device and is not sent to us.
UserDefaults (and, where needed, an App Group shared between the main app, the Pray Stop widget, and the Device Activity extension) so that:
Your prayer history and stats can appear in the widget.
Blocking can be applied at scheduled times even when the app is not open.
We do not upload your prayer notes, schedule, or blocked-app selection to our own servers.
The app uses the following third-party services that have their own data practices:
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions (e.g. weekly and yearly plans). RevenueCat may receive and process data such as your Apple ID–related purchase information and device identifiers to provide subscription and entitlement checks.
RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
In the free version of the app we may show interstitial ads via Google AdMob. Google may collect data (e.g. device identifiers, ad interactions) according to its own policies.
Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If you subscribe to a paid plan, ad-related data collection may still apply in other parts of the app or in other Google services; please refer to Google's policy.
Screen Time / Family Controls
We request access so we can apply the "shield" to the apps you chose to block until you complete a prayer. Your selection is represented by system-generated tokens and is stored only on your device (and in the app's shared container for the blocking extension). Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls are subject to Apple's privacy practices.
Notifications
We may request permission to show local notifications (e.g. "Pray to unlock your app") when you try to open a blocked app. These are created and stored on your device; we do not send your content to a server for notifications.
On your device: Data remains until you delete the app or clear its data. Uninstalling Pray Stop removes the app's local data, including prayer history, schedule, and blocked-app selection from the app's storage. Any data already held by third parties (e.g. RevenueCat, Google) is subject to their retention policies.
We do not retain copies of your prayer notes or schedule on our own systems because we do not collect them.
Access and correction: Your main data (prayer history, notes, schedule) is stored on your device; you can manage or delete it by using the app or deleting the app.
Opt-out of ads: Subscribing to a paid plan removes or reduces ads in the app; ad-related data may still be collected by Google where ads are shown or as per their policy.
Revoke Screen Time: You can revoke Screen Time / Family Controls access for Pray Stop in Settings → Screen Time (or Family). The app's blocking feature will then not work until you grant access again.
Notifications: You can disable notifications for Pray Stop in Settings → Notifications.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or a jurisdiction with similar laws, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). We do not sell your personal information. To exercise rights related to third-party services (e.g. RevenueCat, Google), please use the mechanisms described in their privacy policies.
Pray Stop is not directed at children under 13 (or higher age where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will work to delete it from our systems. Note: most data is stored only on the device, so deleting the app removes that data.
We do not transfer your prayer content or schedule to our own servers. Third-party providers (e.g. RevenueCat, Google) may process data in various countries; their privacy policies describe their transfer and safeguard measures.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the app or on our website and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
