Condensed Matter Physics Group

We are mostly working and have expertise in the field of computational condensed matter physics. Our interest includes exploration of confined systems, especially 2D Materials and their layered assemblies, topological and symmetry driven materials, prediction methods for new 2D materials, and theoretical modelling of their properties (electronic, magnetic, optical, thermal, mechanical, charge and spin dynamics) using DFT and TDDFT based first principles methods. Such quantum systems are intriguing for the next generation applications in the fields similar to quantum information science.

We are also experienced and interested in theoretical aspects of positron annihilation spectroscopy and relevant experimental techniques to probe electronic structures, spin and charge dynamics and relevant topological aspects in nanomaterials.
