I am interested in and work on cognitive neuroscience and neural signal processing. My thesis work includes studying the neural mechanisms and correlates during various non-ordinary states of consciousness (meditation, hypnosis, trance) and slow-paced breathing using electroencephalogram (EEG) and the effects of these states on cognitive functions. I am also studying EEG and its correlation with other physiological signals like ECG, and respiration to investigate brain-lung-heart interactions.
Before joining the MILE lab, I was an assistant professor in the electronics and communication engineering department at Christ University Faculty of Engineering, Bangalore. I received my MTech in digital electronics and communication engineering and BE in electronics and communication engineering from Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU), Karnataka, India.
