Privacy Policy for PracTrack

PracTrack ("the app") is a music practice timer. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short: PracTrack works entirely on your device, does not connect to the internet, and does not send your information to us or to anyone else.
1. Information stored on your device
The app saves the following on your device so that it can work:
- Practice profiles: a name you choose, the instrument, an optional avatar (an emoji or a photo you add), and a daily goal.
- Practice history: dates, times, and durations of practice sessions.
- Settings: your preferences, and an optional email address you enter if you want to send practice reports.
This information is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere.
2. Microphone
PracTrack uses the microphone to detect whether an instrument is being played, so it can measure real practice time. The audio is analyzed in real time on your device and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. No audio leaves your device.
3. Information we collect
The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to any of your information. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party services that gather data. The app does not request internet access.
4. Sharing your information
The app does not share your information with the developer or any third party. The only exception is when you choose to send a practice report: the app opens your own email app with a prefilled message containing the practice metrics. You decide whether to send it and to whom. The email is sent by your email provider under your control, not by the app.
5. Backup and export
If you use the backup or export feature, the app creates a file containing your profiles and practice history and lets you save or share it through apps you choose. That file stays under your control.
6. Children's privacy
PracTrack is suitable for children and may be used by them. The app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children, and contains no ads. Because nothing is collected or transmitted, no personal data of children is gathered, used, or shared.
7. Data retention and deletion
Your information stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual profiles or sessions in the app, and uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.
8. Permissions
- Microphone: to detect instrument sound and measure practice time (audio is never stored or sent).
- Notifications: to show the ongoing notification while a practice session is running.
- Run foreground service and keep the device awake: to keep timing a session reliably while it is in progress.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the developer will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
