I am an Assistant Professor of Economics and the Faculty Advisor for Economics Major at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ). Prior to joining TUJ, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the economics research department of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Tokyo. My current research focuses on issues in international economics, development economics and political economy.
I teach courses in Economics, Politics and Public Policy at Temple University, Japan. I am also a frequent commentator /contributor to leading media outlets such as the BBC, The Japan Times, Euromoney, The Hindu, Business Standard etc.
I hold a PhD and Master’s degree in Economics from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), India and a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, India. Prior to joining academia I was an International Tax Consultant with Deloitte, India.
