A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE PARLIAMENTARY LEAGUE OF STUDENTS IN POLITICS (P-POL) TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE POLITICAL SCIENCE STUDENTS OF MINDANAO NETWORK+ (PSSMIN+)

WHEREAS, Section 3(f), Article II, Chapter I of the 2021 P-POL Constitution provides that among the purposes of the Parliamentary League of Students in Politics (P-POL) is to expand the knowledge and participation of its members through extracurricular engagement to improve the quality of life, strengthen communities, and attain social justice;

WHEREAS, Section 4(e), Article II, Chapter I of the 2021 P-POL Constitution provides that the organization must strive to develop social and political awareness, and instill national consciousness among its members;

WHEREAS, Section 8 (8.8), Article V, Chapter I of the 2021 P-POL Constitution provides that the Committee on Public Relations (CPR) of Parliament is vested the exclusive jurisdiction on any proposal to affiliate P-POL with any legitimate academic organization outside the academe to establish meaningful linkages subject to school policies and such limitations that may be imposed by the Prime Minister;

WHEREAS, P-POL is invited to join as a pioneering member-organization of the Political Science Students of Mindanao Network+ (PSSMIN+) spearheaded by Mr. Adrian Alvin O. Almonte of the Ateneo de Davao University;

WHEREAS, Prime Minister Peter Paul P. Mabitad attended a meeting held last February 25, 2022, a Friday, at 1:00 pm together with representatives from the official academic organization of the Political Science programs of the Ateneo de Davao University, University of Mindanao, and Central Mindanao University discussing about the Network’s premier agendum regarding activities related to the upcoming 2022 National and Local Elections of the Ateneo de Davao University Blue Vote dubbed as “CANDID DATES 2022;”

WHEREAS, the proposed memorandum of agreement signed between PSSMIN+ Convenor, Mr. Adrian Alvin O. Almonte, and P-POL, through Prime Minister Peter Paul P. Mabitad, shall only be limited to the election-related initiative of various stakeholders dubbed as “CANDID DATES 2022;”

NOW, BE IT ADOPTED AND ENACTED by the Parliamentary League of Students in Politics as follows

RESOLVED, that this resolution is allowing P-POL to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Political Science Students of Mindanao Network+;

RESOLVED, that P-POL will observe faithful adherence to its obligations in the MOA such as the appointment of one (1) meeting representative and one (1) communications representative;

RESOLVED, that P-POL will delegate at least ten (10) members to participate in the Network’s premier agendum which is to provide a platform for dialogue with the aspiring candidates of the upcoming 2022 National and Local Elections;

RESOLVED, that P-POL will promote the activities of the network in the organization’s own capacity such as but not limited to creating publication materials and live-streaming; and

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be furnished to the following: all Organs of Parliament, Program Chairperson of the Bachelor of Arts, and Office of the Student Affairs and Services.

ADOPTED BY THE PARLIAMENT, on the 3rd day of March in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty-Two.
