If you want durable, wired headphones specifically designed for children to use in a classroom or at home, choose POWMEE M1; if you need a rugged travel case to protect your existing JBL wireless headphones while commuting or traveling, choose Mchoi Hard. These two items serve completely different purposes, and confusing them is the easiest way to waste money on a purchase that won't solve your actual problem.
• POWMEE M1: Offers a lightweight, tangle-free wired experience with soft protein ear cushions ideal for long listening sessions, but it requires a physical 3.5mm jack and lacks wireless freedom.
• Mchoi Hard: Provides hard-shell shockproof and waterproof protection for specific JBL models, yet it is merely an accessory that does not produce any sound itself.
• The Pick: Choose POWMEE M1 if you are buying audio gear for a child or student; choose Mchoi Hard only if you already own compatible JBL headphones and need safe transport.
The POWMEE M1 is built from the ground up to be a practical solution for young listeners, specifically targeting the needs of kids aged three and up. Its core design philosophy centers on durability and comfort without sacrificing safety. The headband features a snug, adjustable fit that accommodates various head shapes, ensuring the device stays secure during active movement. This is critical for students who might be running between classes or moving around during recess. The ear cups utilize soft cushion protein material, which is explicitly designed to minimize tiredness during extended wear. For a teacher managing a classroom full of energetic students, this means fewer complaints about sore ears after a long day of educational videos or music lessons.
Audio performance here is straightforward and reliable. Equipped with 40mm dynamic drivers, the M1 delivers stereo bass and clean audio across a standard frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. While it is not audiophile-grade gear, it provides sufficient volume and clarity for educational content, games, and casual entertainment. The cord is nylon braided and measures 4.2 feet in length, a specification that directly addresses the common frustration of tangled wires. This tangle-free design is essential for keeping desks and backpacks organized. Furthermore, the on-ear placement and rounded enclosure shape provide a degree of sound isolation, helping to block out ambient noise so the user can focus on their media without needing high-volume settings.

This product is best suited for parents buying gifts for toddlers, teachers setting up classroom listening stations, or anyone needing a simple, robust wired solution for a child. It works seamlessly with Chromebooks, Android devices, iPads, and laptops via a standard 3.5mm jack. However, users should note that for newer iPhone models (iPhone 7 and above) or specific iPad Pro versions, a lightning-to-3.5mm adapter will be required to make the connection. If you are looking for wireless freedom or Bluetooth connectivity, this is not the right tool for the job. It is strictly a wired, plug-and-play device designed for stability and ease of use rather than high-tech features.
In stark contrast to the audio-focused POWMEE M1, the Mchoi Hard is a protective shell designed exclusively for adults or teens who own specific JBL wireless headphones. It is not a headphone itself; it is a storage vessel meant to safeguard expensive electronics during transit. This product is engineered for those who frequently travel, commute, or carry their audio gear in bags where impact and environmental hazards are a concern. The construction utilizes Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA), a material chosen specifically for its ability to absorb shocks and repel water. This means that if your bag gets dropped, sits in the rain, or gets covered in dust, your headphones inside remain safe from damage.
The dimensions of the Mchoi Hard are precise, measuring approximately 9.8 x 5.7 x 2.9 inches in one configuration and listed as 8.2 x 6.8 x 1.7 inches in others, making it compact enough for smaller spaces yet roomy enough to house bulky on-ear headphones. It is custom-fit specifically for the JBL Tune 500BT, 510BT, and 520BT models. If you do not own one of these specific JBL units, this case will likely not close properly or offer adequate protection. The exterior features a smooth, rigid 360-degree zipper that allows for easy access even when wearing gloves, and a sturdy hand strap makes carrying it by hand effortless. A carabiner keychain is also included, allowing you to clip the case onto a backpack or purse for quick access.
Inside, there is a built-in mesh pocket designed to hold accessories like charging cables or the manual, keeping everything contained in one place. This level of organization is vital for commuters who need to find their charging cable quickly before boarding a train or plane. The case is lightweight, weighing only 0.18 kg, so adding it to your luggage adds negligible weight. However, it offers no audio capabilities whatsoever. It is purely a protective shell. If you are a teacher looking for a way to deliver sound to students, this product will not help you. It is solely for the preservation of your personal audio equipment once you have purchased it separately.
• Best for Classroom Use → POWMEE M1: The wired connection eliminates battery anxiety, and the durable build handles daily student handling better than delicate wireless units.
• Best for Travel Protection → Mchoi Hard: The hard EVA shell offers superior shockproof and waterproof defense compared to soft pouches, perfect for tossing into a suitcase.
• Best for Young Children → POWMEE M1: Designed specifically for ages 3+, with soft cushions and a lightweight frame that prevents fatigue during long listening periods.
• Best for Commuters with JBL Gear → Mchoi Hard: Only useful if you own the specific JBL Tune series, offering a custom fit that prevents shifting and scratching inside a bag.
• Best for Budget-Conscious Buyers → POWMEE M1: Provides a complete audio solution at a fraction of the cost of premium wireless headphones, requiring no extra purchases to function.
• Best for Wireless Freedom → Neither: The POWMEE M1 is wired, and the Mchoi Hard is just a case; neither replaces the need for a Bluetooth headphone.
• Best for Noise Isolation → POWMEE M1: The on-ear design and padding naturally block some ambient noise, whereas the case has no effect on what you hear.
• Best for Organization → Mchoi Hard: Includes dedicated space for cables and accessories, keeping your travel kit tidy and preventing lost chargers.
I would buy the POWMEE M1 if my goal was to equip a classroom or a child with a reliable audio source. As a teacher, I prioritize tools that work immediately without needing constant charging or complex pairing processes. The wired nature of the M1 ensures that a lesson never stops because a battery died, and the durable construction means it can survive being tossed in a backpack. It is a functional, purpose-built tool for education. Conversely, I would only consider the Mchoi Hard if I already owned the specific JBL headphones mentioned and needed a heavy-duty case for a trip. Since most people reading this comparison are likely looking for a solution to listen to audio, the M1 is the clear winner for its utility and direct application in learning environments.
No, neither product is a set of wireless earbuds. The POWMEE M1 is a wired headphone, and the Mchoi Hard is a protective case. For true wireless options, you would need to look for products specifically listing Bluetooth connectivity and earbud form factors.
The POWMEE M1 is the superior choice for classroom use because it is wired, eliminating the risk of dead batteries mid-lesson, and features a durable, tangle-free cord that is easy to manage in a busy environment.
No, the Mchoi Hard is a custom-fit case designed specifically for the JBL Tune 500BT, 510BT, and 520BT models. It will not fit other brands or even other models of JBL headphones that differ in size or shape.
