This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is handled in PowerOCR.
1. Information We Collect
PowerOCR does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide personal identifiable information (such as your name, email, or phone number) to use the app.
2. Camera and Photo Library Access
To provide its core functionality, PowerOCR requires access to your device's Camera and Photo Library:
- Camera: Used solely for capturing images of documents or scanning QR codes in real-time.
- Photo Library: Used to import images you select for text extraction and to save generated QR codes or PDF files to your device.
3. How We Process Data (Third-Party APIs)
For Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality, the images you select or capture may be securely transmitted to third-party services, specifically the Google Cloud Vision API, to extract text.
- These images are processed transiently for the sole purpose of returning the extracted text to your device.
- We do not store, retain, or share these images on our own servers.
- Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information on how they handle processed data.
4. Local Storage
All your scanned history, generated QR codes, and extracted texts are saved locally on your device. We do not sync, back up, or transmit your scan history to any external servers. If you delete the app, this local data will be permanently removed.
5. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use any hidden tracking software or analytics tools to monitor your behavior within the app.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
