Ideally, I'd like a button. But what I've learned is that the flow in question doesn't work with .xlsm files, so I've already had to move data out of file1.xlsm into file2.xlsx using Power Query, and then the Power Automate is able to select data from file2.xlsx. As an automated process, this was working ok. I could use a macro in file1.xlsm to open file2.xlsx, refresh the query, and the flow would automatically trigger.

I've played with the idea of using a button to somehow change the value in a cell (similar to a check box, but it doesn't seem to be an option with a button), and then use that as a trigger for the power automate (although I'm not sure if that is even possible).

I thought I'd ask here if anyone knows of any really obvious options I've not thought of. I feel like this should be a fairly standard excel / automate functionality, and I'm missing something obvious.

Yes, you can run a flow in Power Automate from a button in a spreadsheet without using VBA. Power Automate provides several ways to trigger flows, including integration with Microsoft Excel. Here's how you can achieve this:

Download and install Power Automate using an MSI installer or from Microsoft Store. The Microsoft Store installation doesn't require you to have admin rights on your device and is updated automatically regularly. The MSI installer requires admin rights and requires manual updates. However it also includes an option to install the machine runtime application, which allows you to manage machines from the Power Automate portal. You can use the Power Automate for desktop store installation in conjunction with the runtime application, which you can install from the MSI.

Machine-runtime app allows you to connect your machine to the Power Automate cloud and harness the full power of robotic process automation (RPA). Learn more about machine management.

I work for a local government with an Office 365 subscription that includes Power Automate (aka MS Flow) and I wanted to see what I could do with it. After Zoltan Kovacs posted his 3rd blog on using Power Automate to send an email using HTML from a survey I was talking with my colleague (a developer) who told me that it was possible to generate a PDF from HTML using Power Automate (PA).

The Survey123 Feature Report generates a nicer output and it includes attachments and its much easier to create a Word doc template than it is to create HTML. My method does not include attachments from Survey123 because it hasn't been exposed to Power Automate by Survey123 yet. My method also requires you to know HTML and CSS because you will need to fiddle with it. You can save a Word document as HTML (two options, more on that later) to get started but I just went old school and typed it out.

When the HTML file is created in Step 5 it actually saves the file to OneDrive. That doesn't happen in Step 6. You have to explicitly save it using the Create File operation (I've already renamed it in this screenshot). Choose the folder and add the file name and file content from the dynamic content window.

Empower your end-users to go from insight to action. With the new Power Automate visual, end-users can run an automated flow all within a Power BI report. Furthermore, the executed flow can be data contextual, meaning that the Flow inputs can be dynamic based on the filters set by the end-user.

To create a new Flow, you can start from scratch or start with one of the built-in templates as an example. We plan on adding more templates to future releases, so we really appreciate if you can include which templates or connectors interest you in our feedback form.

The webinars, led by professionals from Microsoft, are designed to introduce new users to the tools, which are available to all faculty and staff as part of Microsoft Office 365 and portal.office.com.

Power Automate is an online tool to save valuable time and automate repetitive and mundane daily tasks. It helps you streamline, connect two applications, and set a flow to recurring tasks on schedule. It can send automatic reminders and move business data between systems on a schedule.

Welcome to the DocuSign eSignature for Microsoft Power Automate self-paced course. In this course you will learn about the DocuSign integration with Microsoft Power Automate, specifically how to automate eSignature workflows across different applications, including Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint, Office365, OneDrive. 17dc91bb1f
