Karli Poulter
Piano Instructor
Hello! My name is Karli, I started playing piano when I was 5 years old and have been teaching since I turned 12. I have studied under Suzanne Poole, Mel Shore, Steve Lindeman, Scott Holden, Ryan Conger, Kevin Olson, and Mayumi Matzen and have performed in jazz bands and combos, full orchestras, symphonic band, percussion ensemble, and as an accompanist for both choirs and soloists. I love sightreading, learning pieces by ear, and working with other musicians. Outside of piano, I play both flute and bassoon, love climbing stairs, and learn languages for fun!
A little more about my teaching style: My biggest goal for students is to help them play well and enjoy the process of learning and practicing. I incorporate a lot of different styles and ideas into my teaching and am always looking for new opportunities to learn new things as a musician. Music is hard work, but the joy it brings is well worth the time and effort.
