This website attempts to provide a thorough grammatical description of the Potawatomi language. Most of the examples here are from Forest County, Wisconsin, speakers.
If this is your first time working through Potawatomi, or your first time reading this page, it's probably a good idea to get started with Sounds. There are several different ways to write Potawatomi words, which can be confusing at first -- but no matter how you write it, we're all trying to get the sounds right.
This website is NOT a series of language lessons. You will, unfortunately, not become fluent after reading these pages.
This website is a reference grammar; it provides information on the Potawatomi language, what it's like, what it sounds like, and some information about how to use it.
The hope is that at different points along your journey to fluency in the language, you will find different uses for the information you find here.
