Poston Parent Network

The Poston Parent Network is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization whose mission is to provide supplemental high quality experiences for students enrolled at Poston Junior High School.   PPN supports educational and extra-curricular programs, builds community among our Poston Junior High families, raises funds to support our classrooms and activities, and supports the students, administration, faculty, and staff to maximize the education of each and every child and benefit the school overall.

Because Poston is just a 2-year school, every year we lose half of our parent volunteers!  This means we need new parents to jump in and help us help your kids. Parent volunteers are VITAL to the success of our school and provide much needed support.

Here are a few things that we did this last year (2022-2023) because of parent support/donations:

• Launched Instagram and reached our goal of 100 followers- we currently have 146 followers. 

• Raised $1200 in booster card sales. 

• Raised $1700 for athletic donation from MWI & able to purchase: 

  • Additional basketball uniforms for both boys & girls’ teams

  • New banners for the gymnasium: Home, Visitor & Panther Pride. 

  • Purchased a new Panther Mascot uniform

• Thanks to Lokahi Teams we were able to get brand new soccer jerseys for both the Boy & girls soccer teams.

• Concessions, Birthday grams, Candy grams

• We upgraded our bulletin board so parents can stay informed about upcoming events and stay in touch in ways they can be involved. 

• Yearly Teacher Appreciation; all year we’ve been able to express thanks and gratitude to our teacher & Poston staff

  • Crumbl cookie donated cookies to Poston staff 1x a month

  • Halloween: Popcorn donation-thanking staff for supporting PPN 

  • November: Potato bar lunch to staff. 

  • December: hot cocoa bar for staff. 

  • Teacher appreciation week! supplies, sodas, cookies, pizza

• Ended the year with a fun Poston Pool party!

PPN First Year achievements (2021-2022):

• Athletic banquets for our Panther sports teams every quarter – fed dinner to Panther athletes and their families and presented athlete awards from their coaches 

• Awarded prize to the this year’s top art student

• Awarded prizes to the winners of the Poston Cupcake Bake Off

• Sponsored student prizes during testing weeks

• Donated prizes for the raffle at Friendsgiving and Peek at Poston

• Awarded Sonic slushes to our Most Valuable Panthers each semester

• Donated gear for our soccer team

• Helped supervise and donated supplies for quarterly PAWS parties

• Sponsored Teacher Appreciation meals and treats

• Started concessions at Poston sporting events

• Held a giant tag sale benefiting Outfitters at our Friendsgiving event in November
